WhirlwindGuy Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 I know the general rule of thumb is to keep it minimal, take it slow, etc. Is there a major reason for this? What if both people enjoy hanging out as much as possible and the time spent together is actually pretty fun, productive, not awkward? Is there any major reason to not spend a lot of time together early on in a relationship, assuming both sides are into it? Just wondering what the consensus is.
d0nnivain Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Spending too much time together initially gives you an artificial sense that the relationship is deeper then it actually is. The level of closeness can only be achieved over time, after you have seen each other through all the holidays throughout the year, been at your best & worst together, gone to family events, been there when the other person has the flu etc. Spending 7 days per week together is no substitute because in the beginning it's all wine & roses when you are both on your best behavior. 2
RecentChange Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 I never paid any attention to "dating rules" just did whatever felt right - and sometimes that was a lot of contact.... I never saw it as a bad thing *shrugs* 1
