Hello everyone. SO basically I took a chemistry course this year and I met a wonderful TA (teaching assistant). He is about 2 years older than me. Throughout the lab I saw him staring at me multiple times but I did not think anything of it as it would be impossible and unethical to start something. Anyways as the semester went on I felt some attraction towards him as well. We would talk very minimal in class, it was strictly related to chemistry. But I did feel like there was something between us. A week before the final exam he held office hours and I was the only one that showed up. He helped me with some questions and then he started teasing me and we started joking around. Maybe a little flirtatious. But he is extremely intelligent and has a lot going on for him and I know he would not ruin his graduate studies by starting something with me while I am his student. He did however take my number before I left and said when I am no longer his student he will message. The final exam was last Monday. It has been a week and I have not heard from him. It has been about 2 weeks since he got my number. Why would he ask for my number but never text me?

Maybe he changed his mind.

Maybe he got numbers of several chicks and you're down the list.

Maybe his wife found your number and threw it away.

Maybe he got hit by a bus.

Maybe he got arrested.

Maybe he won the lottery and is now living on a beach in the Caribbean.

Maybe he got abducted by aliens.

There's no way anyone here can possibly know what's going on inside his head! You'll just have to forget about him and move on with your life.

Maybe he's waiting until his final papers are back and graded degree in hand or the end of the school year which may be different than the last day of finals.

He's a teacher, don't dip your pen...

He might not be single

He might just want a fling with you.

Doesn't look good.

Yeah he may have been interested at the moment but has probaby moved on to someone else or already has someone. He knew you were interested and that's why he asked for your number.

Another possibility is that he is waiting for a respectable amount of time to pass. Certainly, he will want to wait until grades are posted and the semester is over.

Even if he didn't technically ask you out until the semester is over, going out with one of his former students a few days after the semester is asking for trouble.

He might or might not contact you sometime in the intermediate future. More likely, he will come to his senses and not initiate anything.

But, if you run across each other sometime in the fall semester, he might go for it.
