In person and texting I'm funny, and sarcastic and have great conversations but when I end up getting fellings for them I change. I no longer am funny or sarcastic and I just cringe at myself.

I'm afraid if I'm sarcastic and funny it won;t show that I have feelings for her. So I usually end up losing contact with them because I have o idea what to do or say. i feel like if I text or call them I will just be annoying them.

Why do I do this?

Why?

You want something, here them to like you back.

With other people you don't care if they like you, or especially find you attractive. They don't matter. That reproductive wiring nature gave you causes emotions that affect your brain function to change your behavior when in the presence of a potential mate. Normal. You can cognitively process things differently. Men are usually taught this at a young age by their fathers. Some of us are dense or missed out. Most get the message eventually.

TBH, having seen both sides, one where people matter too much and where they matter not at all, I'd love to get back to the former if those were the choices. If you choose to modify things, do it slowly so as not to slip too far to the other side. It's easy to get stuck there.

Welcome to my world. I tend to find once I like a girl in that magical sorta' way, I start to overthink and over analyze every single word I say. It's like, I worry my words will in some way ruin everything.. yet before this, I didn't care what I said and was just myself - which is what she liked. I like to think it's simply down to how we view the person in question; at first they're just a somebody, so we have no worries or concerns, we have no feelings towards them, if they stay it's fine, if they go it's fine. Because of that, we act how we do with anyone. Once the emotions kick in, the thoughts of there being something more, the connection starts to build, we focus on how we are around them and try to be perfect around them so that they'll want us. Basically, most of the time we see people with our eyes, with people we have feelings for, it's with our hearts. So erm, yeah, I don't have the answers for you, but understand you're not alone in this.

Because you are now invested in the outcome and want to be authentic with them. Your funny and sarcastic sides are probably a persona you adopt and perform, in order to garner the positive attention of others. But once you harbour a desire to be authentic, you have no idea where to go with that.

Just a guess.....:p
