It has been an enjoyable experience, and we get along great. We have not had sex due to the fact that she knows I am moving away, and doesn't want to become deeply attached (due to past experiences). We do participate in oral sex though. Just yesterday, I tried to have sex with her. When I saw she wasn't ready, it frustrated me a little bit. We ended up talking seriously about things. I was clear that I wanted to be intimate, and she was clear that she does too, but she doesn't want to be heartbroken once I leave. She said that if she knew that I was "hers," she wouldn't have a problem, but since I am leaving, she doesn't think sex is a good idea. After discussing, I said for both of our sake, we should end things now, before our attachment gets deeper. It is a ****ty feeling because she is someone who I really enjoy spending time with. I told her that I hope she stays in touch with me, because I think she is a great person. She said she would, and since yesterday, we have went our separate ways. I still have about 2 months left before I leave. Should I have just enjoyed the remaining 2 months together, or did I make the right decision by ending things, this way we could both not experience heartache? Thank you for your suggestions.
gimlynick Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Depending how far and for how long you are moving. If it is for a long time, yeah, you made a good choice. It's too early in the relation to have a physical distance inbetween you two. Maybe one day you'll meet her again, when you don't have to move anymore and can stay close to her. I understand that she doesn't want sex. It's a big emotional thing for many people. I hope you have enjoyed the oral ;-)
