How long do you give someone before you decide if you like them romantically?

I've been dating a guy for the past 3 weeks and whilst I like him a lot as a friend, I don't think I feel anything romantically for him.

 

I don't get butterflies in my stomach when we kiss but I do feel comfortable around him, he can be quite funny although he has a tendency to laugh at his own jokes a bit too much which can be annoying.

 

On first impressions I found him a little odd but I quite like that in a way in people. He seems to want to see me a lot which is completely different to my ex who was quite distant.

 

How long do you give romantic partners before you decide?

Only you can decide that for yourself. You're already posting on here so that should tell you something.

 

Seriously - everyone has their own standard. If you're afraid of being judged - you'll be judged whether you do it now or in 6 weeks or 6 months so why invest more time if you think it isn't there. Who knows maybe you'll both get back together in 6 months and you'll fee different.

Don't lead him on any further. At this point you're kissing which is definitely giving him the idea you do like him romantically. To come out with....I'm just not feeling it with you further on will seem baffling and illogical to him. WTH are you doing kissing and dating someone you're not into? Will be his reaction. :confused: and actually that reaction would be quite justified.

 

Hanging onto someone because they are giving you attention isn't anyway to conduct a relationship.

I usually know if I don't like them after the third, fourth date. If I like the dude, I still give him a couple more weeks to see if he's a decent person and get to know him better. A lot of dudes won't stand the test of time. A lot of dudes will leave early if there's no sex involved early. A lot of dudes are simply nice people but a bit boring - or with a bit too many flaws - or a bit too unnerving habits. I think these dudes fall in the "not the one" category :D.
