I was pretty devastated by the whole ordeal. I always struggled with expressing my emotions and after the break up I closed up entirely and didn't let anyone in for fear of getting hurt again. I've made a lot of progress since then though and started casual dating again around February time. I met a really great girl in March and we hit it off immediately. We met up quite a few times and shared some nice moments together, even getting to the point where we were probably seeing each other (although we never formally discussed what we were). She lives around an hour and a half away from me on the train and we texted every day we didn't see each other. I really let my guard down with her because she makes me so happy when we're together and it just felt right. But in the last couple of days she's just gone completely silent. Out of nowhere she's returned no messages/calls or anything even though she's clearly been active on her phone (whatsapp last seen function is a massive pain!). I don't want to jump to conclusions too early but whats going on here?! I don't want to be hurt again by a girl I'm starting to develop feelings for. Its really been getting me down these last few days wondering what went wrong. I feel like my heart is just a toy to some people and that I always end up far worse off than the other individual. Has anyone experienced any similiar thoughts? Maybe it was too early to be getting back in to dating after all. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Sounds like she met someone else and ghosted you. It sucks. Not much you can do about it if that's the case except forget about her and move on. The consolation is that it happened fairly soon and you found out what she's made of before you got too invested. Anyone who would do that without even a word is just heartless. It's a chance you have to take to be in the game though. No guarantees. No way to prevent it from ever happening again. Don't let it make you jaded. There are good ones out there. Learn take it slow early on and don't get invested before they do. Select for authenticity.
