carelessdrifter Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 so my boyfriend believes in soul mates and i laughed at the idea of it... do you think that it was out of order?
MidwestUSA Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Laughing at the ideas of anyone you care for is out of order. Now, if he believes in a zombie apocalypse, I'd be more willing to allow some leeway. But, if that's what he believes, and expressed it to you in a loving romantic way, how do you think you made him feel? 2
basil67 Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Yes, it was out of order. But let's face it, sometimes someone says something really bizarre and a laugh may escape before we realise it. If you upset him, then you owe an apology 1
Zippy2000 Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Depends on the person and how easy going they are but I dated a woman once who believe in Reiki and I did tell her I ddnt believe in it I dont think she was very happy about it but looking back now I wish I had dealt with it in a more sensitive way.
LoveRefreshed Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 so my boyfriend believes in soul mates and i laughed at the idea of it... do you think that it was out of order? Don't be super surprised if he loses a little bit of that sparkle in his eye for you and becomes a bit less romantic. I think you made a bigger mistake than you thought. If my gf said that, I'd assume she just wasn't my soul mate. You don't believe in it until you meet one. I don't believe in a single soul mate out there, but I do believe in a deep connection with a person that is easily described as a 'soul mate'. 2
kendahke Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 so my boyfriend believes in soul mates and i laughed at the idea of it... do you think that it was out of order? It was rude and it might have given him something to think about when it comes to the wisdom of being with someone who 1. discounts what he believes and 2. laughs in his face about it. Not a good move on your part. 1
