Mjm1014 Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Just wondering if anyone else had/has the same issue. Downloaded Tinder early last week, and for the first 4-5 days I constantly got matches, and girls messaging me. I literally couldn't keep up..there were a lot of really attracted girls talking to me too which blew me away at first..Then one day, no matches, no messages, no nothing and it's been like that ever since..I can swipe right on every girl and hardly get any matches. I'm lucky to get one match every two or three days now at best, and girls that I match now don't write back if I message them. Bumble is the same way. I stopped getting any kind of matches or messages right around the same time. Not the end of the world, but was just curious if anyone else has had a problem? It's just weird because for the first 3-4 days I would get like 20 matches a day and at least 2-3 girls messaging me a day.. Btw I haven't changed anything on my profile!

I think if you login to tinder and start swiping, those who have already swiped right on you show up first. So once those girls are out of the way, yeah, your matches might decrease. 2
Erik30 Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 I think it's because of some algorithm Tinder uses. You already went through the frequent users, so now you might be swiping girls who are barely active, or haven't used the app in months. Sometimes I would have match with a girl who I liked weeks ago.
joseb Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Not a bug, a feature Most people get better matches at the start. I suspect it's a combination of a few things...new users might get a better "weighting" than average, there might be more bots targeting new users, if you swipe right too much as you use tinder more you get negatively "weighted".

I found when I used Tinder that I'd be matching everyone for the first few profiles I swiped right on but then suddenly I would get nothing. So if you have stopped seeing matches, stop swiping for a few days or even a week. The next time you are on you should start getting some more matches, either because more people have seen you or new people have joined. I met my current boyfriend on Tinder, so it can work.
Otter2569 Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I thought I was matching with women that didn't have any fingers on their hands LOL Its amazing how many people don't respond or cant maintain a decent conversation. Like much of OLD its a circus. I use it for entertainment value: fun looking at pics and I give it the college try when I get a solid match but i'm not sitting by the laptop waiting for Princess Charming to appear. 1
