AndrewJ Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 My question is : If you have a gut feeling about a certain situation, Is it real. The gut feeling I have about what i feel seems delusional but all the facts of it are ringinmg true. And what is intuition? Is your intuition your ability to make sense of your gut feeling? Any thoughts please.
tanbark813 Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 From personal experience I would argue that gut feelings are more accurate than conscious thought. Every time I've shrugged off a gut feeling I've paid for it later.

Opium Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 That's a good question. Most of the time if you have a gut feeling whether it's good or bad it's for a reason. If I feel somethings up, I think twice about it and try to see why I'm feeling that way. But to your question: Yes gut feelings are real, at least for me they are
Bubbles Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Yes, Gut Feelings are very close to the truth. Call it a gut feeling, instincts, intuition, that little voice in ones head..........they are all emotions that tell your brain to start paying attention to what is going on around you. And many will tell you that you should listen to your gut feelings. bubbles
Author AndrewJ Posted June 16, 2005 Author Posted June 16, 2005 very interesting tanbark The scenario even unfolded and became more apparent in a dream i had last night? However i dont want to ask questions, I think its best to sit back and let those involved beleive im not conscious of the situation
Bubbles Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 AndrewJ, What is going on in your world? Can we help you get through? bubbles
XNemesisX Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Gut feelings are almost always right... A few times I have ignored my gut feelings because I was afraid I was just being paranoid... So far every gut feeling I have had has ended up being true.
LucreziaBorgia Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 I listen to my gut feelings too. Its a pretty good indication that there are some subtle, almost subliminal things that I've picked up on and am reacting to. All the ones I've had have ended up being accurate, too.

Author AndrewJ Posted June 16, 2005 Author Posted June 16, 2005 LucreziaBorgia, I agree after serious thought its the little subtle things said that have only cemented what i beleive to be real. Some folk just have no clue do they! Till I have actual proof I can only speculate, but the feeling deep inside burns my soul.
ImaManDammit Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Originally posted by AndrewJ Till I have actual proof I can only speculate, but the feeling deep inside burns my soul. Which means you have doubt, and all doubt is based on something real even if its perceived or subliminal. For exmapl, and exgirlfriend had this habit of looking down when talking about certain subjects. My gut feeling told e that didn't seem right especially knowing her personality quite. I late found out that every time she did that she was either lieing or exaggerating the truth. So I pressed her on it, discussed it, and worked through. Now I broke up with her because some of the lies were just terrible, but in a sense that gut feeling guided me. So make a negative gut feeling a positive. Take that feeling and express it into words and discuss it. Then in one way shape or form you'll get the proof you need, whether it be tangible or not.
westernxer Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Originally posted by AndrewJ Till I have actual proof I can only speculate, but the feeling deep inside burns my soul. When you have proof, you'll wish you'd listened to you gut a lot sooner. Never fails...
whichwayisup Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Originally posted by alphamale INTUITION = YOUR AGE + YOUR EXPERIENCES + YOUR INTELLIGENCE + YOUR PERCEPTIVENESS Nicely put, agreed! I think for me, my gut is always right...That voice that screams out - I have to listen to it. If I don't, well I got nobody to blame but me!
RoxStar Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Always trust your gut feeling. I am a firm believer! And I agree with ALPHA on intuition...
Author AndrewJ Posted June 17, 2005 Author Posted June 17, 2005 Alphas interpretation of intuition means that by me getting clean from my vices, my intution will only grow. I find it scary being sober cause i feel like neo from the matrix i can see right through all the bull ****! I see what in my haze was real was a facade.......dont do drugs kids stay in school
JadeStar Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 I think this is a good post and have often wondered about it before too. I have trusted my gut insticnt, intuition, or what ever you want to call it. I have most of the time been right, but not all the time. In those times I wasn't, I guessed I chalked it up to paranoia. However, the thing that gets me is, there have been times that I have had a gut feeling about something with no proof to back up why I feel the way I do, maybe thats the paranoia. But, I'm often left wondering the fact that I may have been right, just because I didn't have the "proof." I have found myself saying, "Jade, you're just paranoid, things are fine." But then I question it and say, "what if this feeling is for real or true but just don't have any proof right now?" I have talked about this with my counselor before and he says within the past 2 years I have had many "coinensdences" to occur. Maybe they are based on no proof as well. I have had about maybe 10 'coinensdences" in the past 2 years on certain situations, but yet I find I sometimes still linger on the possiblity that my gut feeling was correct. I hate not knowing something. I often feel left in limbo about my gut feelings. Jade
JPMorgan Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 The few times I've ignored my own 'gut feeling' I have regretted it. Yes, it's real.
