Hella Lost Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 So I matched with this girl on tinder. The first thing she sends me is a msg asking if I would help her film a documentary. She saw that I'm into film & photography, so asked me if she could borrow my camera. The doc is about saving the education of children in the Philippines & trying to build a preschool for them. She wants more Filipino ppl to get involved, & I happen to be one. IDK, should I do it? I'm on tinder for dating lol. I told her I don't feel comfortable letting her borrow my camera, because I don't know her. So she said she'll email me a pitch to get me interested. I followed her IG and she didn't even follow back. I want to date her, but I don't want to be used.
Jabron1 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Pfft Tell her that you'll chat about it over drinks. 2
Art_Critic Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Tell her you want to date her not loan her your equipment unless she is looking for your "equipment" One thing I have learned in all my years of dating when I was single is that nothing good comes from someone asking for something in the beginning of a relationship, money is probably next of her list once she sees you have lowered your guard some. Block... 2

She hasn't even seen you in person and already, she's grabbing at your property?
iphone_user1 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Well, tell her to give you something as a guarantee
No_Go Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 I had a guy that I dated from OKC that asked me for small cash initially because 'his ex-GF stole his card' - um, in the following 6 months he mooched extra $7,000 from me. If you want to follow my example, give her your camera - better without intent to see it back, ever. So I matched with this girl on tinder. The first thing she sends me is a msg asking if I would help her film a documentary. She saw that I'm into film & photography, so asked me if she could borrow my camera. Erik30 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Don't do it, it's probably a scam. No normal person would ask a complete stranger if they can borrow their camera, especially on something like Tinder. Wouldn't surprise me if a guy is actually behind everything.
ff12343 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 You are considering lending a piece of expensive equipment to someone you don't know or have never seen before?
angel.eyes Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 I want to date her, but I don't want to be used. Next!!! You can either be used by this one or you can go find a different girl who will date you.
Shining One Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Let her know about your policy of not letting women use your equipment until after you've had an opportunity to use hers. 1
Mrin Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 I'm working on a documentary about banking. Can I has your ATM and PIN???? Oh ya, and your camera? 1
Art_Critic Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Any time I have rented any expensive camera gear they make you put a deposit for the full value on a credit card before rental.. just tell her you need a 5k check first or if the camera is better than that tell her 10-20k..
