kellyp1 Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Do you all believe in fate? And if so, why care when someone leaves your life. If you believe in fate being the end all and they were meant to be in your life, they will come back around.
sapientia Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Hi There, I believe in fate, but I also believe in taking responsibilities of our own actions. We have two palms. One one palm lies our destiny. On the other, our own making. GOod luck in your quest!
Author kellyp1 Posted June 16, 2005 Author Posted June 16, 2005 Ok, what about some of the regulars, believe in fate?
TylerC Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 I think if a relationship is meant to be, it will be. However, that doesn't mean you can go out and push the limits of your partner.
smile95 Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 I believed in fate when I met my bf. Itwas so meant to be.....and then we broke up after 3 yrs.But the way we met was too uncanny! So fate is not exactly my friend right now. I belived in it when it was in my favor I guess. I do believe that things happen for a reason and eventhough we have no idea why they are happening now, when we look back, we see it. And usually are thankful.
sk0r3 Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 i think fate is absolutely ridiculous. dang romantics. one word. choice. just my $0.02
Cecelius Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Nope. Tendancies, possibilities, inclinations, logic, wants, desires, even karma, but not fate. A man is in control of what he does, and other than the laws of physics and whatever code/principles he sticks with, there is no outside force making him do anything.
noname Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 fate exists to an extent. but not independent of our own actions. it is easy to say "what is meant to be will be". the problem is that it makes people lazy, complacent, and not take responsibility in it's outcome. the truth is that fate and destiny are relative and have the ability to change. they have to be checked, nurtured, and maintained in order to mold them to produce the outcomes that we expect... it was fate that you were born, but if someone didn't take care of you, feed you, keep you warm, teach you, etc. you probably wouldn't be here today to be asking questions... same thing goes with relationships...

My b/f and I met because we had three consecutive college courses together -- what are the odds? All those kids, all those classes & rooms, we had three in a row, mon tues and weds. Then when we started talking, we had the same interests, same childhood situations, his birthday is my little sister's bday, my name is his ex's (who coincidentally we found out after dating for a couple weeks that I WORK with his ex!!!!) my aunt works two cubes down from his aunt @ a well known bank (we found out at a wedding reception, got to talking. Small world). His friend is best friends with my cousin, etc...the list just keeps getting longer!!! Someone wanted us to meet, thats for sure :b
