He said it is too soon and wasn't ready to say I love you. Is this bad?

We went out for breakfast before work and he dropped me off. I was in a rush and before i left the car he said i love you. I was shocked but didn't have time to process it so i said "me too" and kissed him.

The next day I told him we should talk about it and we did in person and he said he was worried he said it was too soon. Then he said he did say it too soon and wasn't ready for that. Im not ready either (its been 6 months) but i didn't blurt it out like he did. I can tell he cares about me a lot.. but Now im not sure if i will believe him when he really does say it... or if he will ever love me at all.

Should I break it off? Is this a sign he will neber love me? I need advice...

Don't freak out. You both agree you said it too soon. But it's good he even thought about it! Listen, it's mostly in the movies and on TV that people go around saying "I love you" habitually. And honestly, if it does become habitual, does it really mean anything more than "See you later"? Anyway, some guys who are serious about relationships don't want to say it until they are ready to back it up with commitment or even engagement. So don't worry about it. To me, unless their behavior is cold or off, I think it's a good sign they don't just start saying it without backing it up with some change in status. Shows they're trying not to get carried away and rush into things. It's a good thing. Relax.

You're looking into this way to much, indeed relax. He wasn't readyready to say it, simple as that. All you have to do is wait till he says it. He won't say it if he doesn't mean it.
