Getting in to the male mindset... for ex gals, or any gals really...

I was reading an article today about getting into the male mindset… thought it may shed some light for some of the gals wondering about their guys…

 

"Men are goal oriented and tend to approach decisions like scientists. They want to reach a conclusion as efficiently as possible, so they instinctively consider their own needs first. Too often women get caught up worrying about how their choices will affect everyone else.

 

The trick to getting into a man’s mindset is to think about how you will feel if you don’t do what you want. If you are going to be miserable because you’re sacrificing what you really want in order to please others, you end up being unhappy with your choice and subsequently blame them for not letting you do what you want."

 

Interesting huh? If you don’t like what you’ve read (fellers) don’t shoot the messenger… I was just sharing! Healthy debate allowed however…

"Door Mat" men are, no offense, like women in the sense that they are more concerned with HER feelings and do not care about making himself happy. Or, he will worry about gaining her approval.

 

Men ARE goal oriented and tend to see things in Black and White.

Women are always seeing the world in shades of Gray.

 

A good example is shopping.

 

When I'd go to Sears to buy tools, I knew exactly what I wanted. I'd be in and out in 5 minutes.

My Ex would be at Forever 21 for 6 hours and come out with nothing or one or two items. I gave her a $200 gift certificate there for Christmas. She still hasn't used it all.

 

The point is, women will NEVER see things in black and white. Men always will. As long as you understand that you can work around it.

 

Makes no sense to dwell or worry about it. That's something you just can't change. Accept the reality of it and move on

because society expects women to be mothers or at the least maternal.....which means looking out for our loved ones and making decisions based upon the affects it will have on them...not always ourselves.

I don't have the magazine here at work but it was a shrink (has written some sort of book) and was published in the July edition of Cosmo (it was free with a movie ticket!).

 

The article related not just to relationships, but to getting what you want ie. a job promotion etc.

 

Maybe I took it out of context but I personally found it to be pretty spot on *ducks for cover*
