I live with my boyfriend and his coworker, which also happens to be a good friend of mine and I'm a little concerned with his new relationship. I typically try not to be involved or care about other people's relationships, but I'm concerned that this new girlfriend is bad news.

Background: Roommate and new girl both work together, have became close since about November/December. Roommate has two kids and just recently divorced his fiance last month and is living with for a few months until he has enough money to buy another house for him and his kids (that he is trying to get full custody of). Him and his ex broke up because she didn't want to do anything but lay around all day (no work, school, volunteer, clean, cook, nothing). New girl comes over about 1-2 times a week to stay the night, my boyfriend also knows her and hasn't really commented on their relationship but he's also not one to get involved with this sort of stuff.

Possible red flags?

- He's 31, she's 19. Not that I always think age matters.

- Everytime I talk to her she talks about other men she's been with/her ex that she recently broke up with.

- She wants to go to the bedroom almost immediately as soon as she get theres and they have incredibly loud sex, even though its been acknowledged we have heard them....

- Moved in some of her belongings from his old place (where he was living with his ex)

- She wants him to take her on dates at the most expensive restaurants in the city.

- Goes to bed super early and doesn't actually spend time or socialize with him, or us.

- My boyfriend's sister (who works with the three of them) was repulsed.

- She is no where to be found when his kids are over.

Possible good things?

- Boyfriend hasn't said anything bad about her, but he may just be keeping quiet.

- He does seem happy.... at least temporary.

- He's out of the house a lot more rather then just gaming away.

- She does have her own place, car, and stuff, I don't know if it would be completely about money.

- Is relatively nice to me, and appears to want to be on good terms

Sounds like a rebound to me, what do you guys think?

Any tips or advice I could approach my roommate about this girl without being rude or hurtful.

Yeah it sounds like a rebound... so he's got a 19 year old girlfriend who is really into loud sex? IMO, you should be happy for someone who just got out of a crappy relationship to get a nice rebound distraction like that. Don't worry, he'll get bored of her soon.

I doubt very much he is looking at her as a potential life partner or step mother to his kids. He is 31 years old....all he is doing is enjoying throwing a hump into a virile 19 year old girl....that's it. And who wouldn't??? I say good on him. Just hope to god he doesn't get her pregnant. The only thing I would approach him on in a joking way is that he wear a condom.

Of course this won't last but you can't say a word. If you so much as open your mouth you will be labeled an interfering know it all or worse. Just be civil to this child & be there to pick up the pieces when she empties his wallet & breaks his heart

Agree with the others. Sounds like a rebound to me. It would have been more concerning to me if he was introducing her to the kids or something.

I agree. Also don't worry - he's an adult and can handle himself so I wouldn't worry about him. He's obviously getting something out of the relationship and since he left his previous partner, he'll definitely be able to leave her if it isn't working out for him.
