Zorrloft Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Not WHEN in a relationship, but WHERE did you FIRST say "I love you"? What was the circumstance/scene? The first time I told my last girlfriend was in the car just after we parked, it was the middle of a romantic date. We had just finished a visit to a museum and we were about to head into a nice restaurant for dinner. I was too chicken to say it in the restaurant, so I kissed her on the lips and told her I loved her. She echoed it back and we sat a few second in the glow of the moment before going into the restaurant. Tell me your stories.
Mrin Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Shower with her. She wasn't sure she heard it correctly and said, "what did you say???"
MidwestUSA Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 My husband said it first, in an asphalt parking lot of a convenience store with the temp at 106F. I had locked my keys out of the car with the engine running. It was pretty romantic. Hot. You could say it was really hot!
Leigh 87 Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 We were laying in bed before or after sex. I can't remember I kept saying " I more than just like you.. just so you know..." He very eagerly echoed back the sentiment " I more than like you too" He had previously remarked a couple of weeks in, that he " was surprised at how fast his feelings were developing" on all fronts (spiritual, sexual, emotional and mental) So... After the " I more than like you" spiel, he just blurted out " fck it, I love you" It was only a month or so in so.... We both mentioned how early it seemed. The feeling hasn't changed. We have just gotten extremely close and what we felt early on has been cemented.
QueenDafine Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 He said it first after we made up after our first fight. In the heat of the moment I guess I just sat there and hugged him. When I first said it, were were on my porch for the last time I'd see him in months, I kissed him goodbye and I said it back this time. Nothing special but I meant it and felt it!
d0nnivain Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 DH had literally just thrown up on me. He yelled it as I was sprinting across the parking lot of a truck stop to get away from him & into a ladies' room so I could wash the puke off. Romantic -- no. Memorable -- but I wish I could forget.
sas22 Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 My boyfriend said it about 2 months in, we were making out and he was kissing my neck and he blurted it out..that was way too early for me to feel anything so i didn't say it back and actually had to ask him "what did you just say??" because it threw me off guard lol. I don't think he's going to say it again until I say it. I'm definitely feeling love for him now, but I've been too chicken to say it..which is why I'm hoping this thread will give me some ideas
Miss Peach Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 (edited) BF said it to me during our first fight. He got into his head I was pulling away and started lashing out. We got together to talk about it and he was driving me mad on the phone. That is when it came out. I had been wanting to say it for months by that point. Out first fight was around the 8 month mark.
