mortensorchid Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 I had made a connection with someone on a dating website. We exchanged some "hi how are you" messages on it. And we had arranged to meet for dinner tonight. Earlier today I get a message from him on the website that something came up and he wanted a rain check. I just wrote back "ok". This annoys me. I had arranged to meet someone else last week and he canceled on me because he got an offer to go to a basketball game. I found that annoying that he would do that because that says he's inconsiderate. True, this guy could've been the biggest jerk in the world or he could've been a good guy, but that's inconsiderate to cancel on someone like that for something else. The first person referenced attempted to contact me again but I never responded to it because he did that. As for this one? I'm thinking the same thing. Just another OLD thing that's unfortunate but that's how it is I guess. 1

hippychick3 Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Sorry, OP. It happens all the time. Just think of it as weeding out the ones who aren't really looking for a relationship. Those that are would not miss the opportunity to have a date with you. Try not to expect anything from anyone until you're actually sitting across from them at a first meeting. It's easier to than being disappointed. And, always try to be talking to more than one person at a time so you have no emotional investment in someone you haven't met yet. Hang in there..the right guy will make a date and keep it! 1
Gaeta Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 This man here is not last man. Before concluding he cancelled for trivial reasons just wait and see if he gets back to you and what his story is. Till then go out with someone else. 2
Truth34 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 That is all online dating is. I've met two people so far. Off of two websites, OKC and Tinder. Plenty of good convos dried up or cancelled dates, I just expect it now. Pretty lame. 1
preraph Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Seems like they're always keeping themselves open in case they meet the dream girl. In the process, they filter out all the ones who treat others as they'd like to be treated and won't put up with crap. So it's their loss, and consider yourself lucky to find out before things got complicated. 1
spriggan2 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Pretty crappy to cancel dates day of. Had it happen twice. Try to get a reliable plan B. I tend to schedule dates on Saturday nights around 9ish though, which is close to when I would normally go out to one of my local night club/bar areas. That way if there's a cancellation I'll just go grab a drink and try to talk or dance with some girls. Ends up being not too much of an inconvenience. 1
joseb Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Ive had two same day cancellations...by the same girl! Yeah i know. I should probably have nexted her after the first. She's still messaging me and seems adamant that she really couldn't help the cancellations. Was thinking of suggesting she comes to my place to watch Netflix...if she can't be bothered trying, then neither can I In your case, did he have a good reason to cancel?
