Unless...that isn't the goal of either party.

I don't want to combine lives or have a future with her and I'm pretty sure she doesn't want one with me.

Neither is thinking about an exchange. We're just looking to have fun in the moment for a week.

I guess these guidelines you posted are why it's a gray area. It doesn't fit standard dating (no goals), doesn't fit sugar dating (no money for sex) and I'm paying for the whole thing because she's not well off.

So it's more like friends with benefits.

Also: would you do all this if you weren't expecting sex from her? Do you just like to spend time with her?

Yeah. Life of the party. Super fun girl. We are attractor attracted to each other and have sex though.

I don't see preraph's post, but I'll respond anyway...

Here's how you tell. Would the girl you're bringing cook dinner for you at her house for free?

I'm not certain of her cooking abilities. I could cook for her though. She lives 2,300 miles away though, so hard to test this out.

Would the girl you're bringing share expenses?

No. She can't come close to affording this type of thing.

Does the girl your bringing come over to just watch a movie on the couch, for free?

Again, 2300 miles apart so I don't know.

Have you ever had sex with her without having to spend money on her first?

No. I flew her out every time. She doesn't really have money for this kind of thing.

Would she attend a wedding with you without being paid?

I wouldn't invite her to a wedding. She's not girlfriend material. Fun though.

Yes, definitely. FWB and fun. Nothing serious. I'm not looking for a relationship right now.

Well LW, I hope you have a fun week. HOWEVER, for all the advice you seem to be asking on here, your threads read like Groundhog Day.

Your story w this girl seems to be eerily similar to your story w Yoga Girl. Everything from how you pay for everything in the relationship to what you know and care about them--really hot and ready to party just lines right up. I do hope this woman doesn't leave you for (an)other guy(s) as Yoga did last summer in NYC.

If she's 2300 miles away, not sure it matters. It just sounds to me like you're financing a party girl. Guess you're never going to know unless she spends money to come see you or you go stay in her town for awhile and she hosts you rather than you having to pay for everything.

It sounds really sad. :(

I have no guy friends. All women.

You need to get some male friends. They would keep you more centred.

I'd like to find where the line between regular dating and sugar dating is.

This doesn't sound too much different than most of the vacations I've taken with a boyfriend. The men I've had relationships with have always paid for our trips and dates. A man providing for his woman is attractive, and natural, and most men want to find that one special girl that they can adore and provide for materially and beyond.

It doesn't fit standard dating (no goals), doesn't fit sugar dating (no money for sex) and I'm paying for the whole thing because she's not well off.

We're just looking to have fun in the moment for a week.

But you just defined a goal: have fun in the moment for a week.

For the most part, I've only had relationships with men who shared the goal of long-term cohabitation, marriage, and a family. They covered the lion's share of our expenses and generally turned away my offers to contribute more financially, especially once we moved in together.

Your goal is no less worthwhile than mine. I'm not with any of those men now, so obviously things don't always go according to plan. So I don't see anything wrong with taking care of the expenses so she doesn't have to worry about it, regardless of whether you're looking forward to a lifetime or a week with her.

I think the line between regular dating and sugar dating (prostitution) is crossed when you give her money (cash, check, pay her bills) in clear exchange for sex.

If "sugar dating" means that one of the parties would 100% not be hanging around with the other party unless there was money or gifts involved, then this is an example of it. Not to disparage it at all!

Because I'm curious?

I'd like to find where the line between regular dating and sugar dating is.

Where the Love Shack membership defines that line, how people reconcile the man paying for the date with the man paying for a sugar baby.

It's an interesting topic.

I'm not analyzing anything. I'm going to Miami Music Week with a super fun chick.

I'm a curious person by nature. Curious where the line is drawn between paying for dates and paying for sugar.

They are pretty close to each other.

i think it absolutely leans toward sugar dating/paying for dates on the continuum of dating. She's a "fun" "party girl". I think she has fun with you and wants to go to the music festival. However, she also would probably go with another guy that she also has fun with (much like you and the options you are weighing). You fulfill a need for her--one of the elements be getting to go to the party and have an experience. Sounds like she would also be open to another guy taking her and less inclined to go if this wasn't an event and you were inviting her to a quiet weekend that was just about you. See where that fits on the continuum. You are not the only reason she is coming to the festival so it's somewhere between sugar dating and paying for dates. You are not the main or only factor which has her wanting to come to Miami soooooo effectively you are paying for this company of hers. Even if she is nice to you. If she would go wherever you are or to whatever you are doing that would be more like dating. You are the means to an end.

Except... she didn't ask to go and it isn't anything she's familiar with.

I showed her this video from a couple years ago, to try to show her what it's like. It focuses mainly on ultra, but the general idea is well presented.

I convinced her to go. She doesn't know this scene...

So i can't be a means to an end. She didn't even know about it.

We had a lot of fun last time we hung out. For that reason, I invited her to this. The other 2 invited themselves, though one of those pays her own way 100%. Yoga is the typical wookie she is and just wants to leach. A little different for this one.

hmmm valid points. So why are you asking the question then? Sounds like you've got her intentions all figured out. New info in this post might make it more innocent. The thing is: why do you describe her the way you do? I'm just thinking (with the tone of your posts and your lifestyle as you described) that it doesn't really seem like "dating" or the clearest of intentions happen between these girls and you (apart from what you just mentioned in this post)---otherwise you wouldn't describe them the way you do. Also I can tell in 5 secs (and so can most other girls I imagine) if someone is objectifying me in that way and in a dating mindset would never put up with that. Though in a mindset where there is something to gain (ie pay for date/sugar dating) I know girls who were up for that would--which is partly how I came up with my response.

But truthfully you already know the answer. Or are you just asking the question in order to talk about the festival which is dear to your heart (I'm not being sarcastic). Just wondering since there is a bit of a bragging tone to your OP too--something I think is mainly for your own benefit since I'm not even sure that it is something all the guys on here are envious of (a handful probably). I'm curious, just like you, but about how people's minds work. I feel like there could be hope for you. Not sure that you are going about it the right way though. Anyway, good luck. I see no problem taking this girl and having a great time--your reasons are good enough. Have fun!

If there was a shot at running into Lt Castillo or Rico Tubbs,, I would.

But I've got the boxed set. That's the week to plant lettuce and move the hydroponics anyway. Gotta eat. :)

See I don't see it as a clear line though.

From my understanding, sugar babies don't get paid for the act of sex per sea. They get things bought for them and kept in a lifestyle they couldn't afford otherwise in exchange for a relationship (including sex)

It's a continuum.

If a guy in a relationship is paying for everything it's really not all that different than a sugar baby, other than labelling and a different contract.

Agree 100% which is why I pay my share. Luckily as I don't have kids I can afford quite a lot of costly items like adventure holidays. Different set ups have different challenges but I think a woman paying her way tends to indicate that she wants to be taken seriously.

I guess it's not dating. IDK, I'm just having a week of fun and so is she.

I asked the question for reasons already stated:

I want to see where the public draws the line between sugar and non sugar dating or having fun or what have you. I'm curious, since this is so close to the edge, or it seems to be.

Yes, I also want to share the fun that is Miami Music Week with the board. I'm sure some find it interesting... no? I'll add some stories from the week to this thread. Isn't part of a forum getting to know people, seeing what others do and having interesting things to read? This is my contribution to that, showing what Miami Music Week is all about. I'm sure quite a few people on here have never been to this type of thing, so I'm sharing it with everyone.

I'm really excited for the week of music, bursting at the seams about it and gushing. So yes, I need to let a bit of that out. :D

Ok about the sugar dating. You have the answer yourself because you have more facts than any of us. I think though that because you objectify these women, you can't trust that they aren't doing the same to you. Deep thoughts--think about it. When I challenged you, you came to her defense with valid points that actually pulled it back to normal dating stuff. It's you that planted the seed that it may be pay for play--maybe that's all in your own head. Here's the thing if you just take it on the surface level: you enjoy time with her and her with you; it's a fun event that you feel would best be shared with a date; it sounds like she can't afford to go but you could afford to take her and have that part figured out. So simple, it's a no brainer. Give freely and have fun--it's that the spirit of a festival anyway.

Yes I agree with you about the part of a forum is getting to know the board. And I'm glad you told us about the festival. As far as the gushing/bragging go I was referring to more of the "banging hot chicks" etc part not the music festival part. I like music festivals. And even if I didn't, I'm open minded about people's interests and find it interesting. Where I think you are going wrong is that thinking your approach toward women is something to brag about or that it will find you the dating happiness you seek. That's all. But maybe that's not what you are looking for. Since as you said, we do get to know one another on this board, I would say you are half-way stuck between wanting a real relationship and then this stuff, no?

No judgement really BTW. But then you just need to choose a path, at least for this occasion. Like if it is more like an experience for the event, with a chick that is bang-able but not relationship material, who cares if you pay for it? Since that is not what you are testing out here. This one has already shown that she provides what you need for this weekend: fun, party girl, hot. As someone else said, don't make it so complicated.

Is this considered sugar, or just normal dating where a guy pays the way?

Didn't read the thread but if the compensation is understood up-front, it just sounds like an escort to me. I think the "sugar" thing implies some sort of ongoing business arrangement/quasi-relationship, whereas you've just got someone to go with you to this thing, for pay.

Well, I haven't gone through with a pay for play sugar dating situation yet. Been too busy.

I do have my date for Miami Music Week set up though.

She's a girl I've spent a weekend alone with before. 24, fun, huge party girl (perfect for a week long party), very hot and in shape, big fake boobs. She is very affectionate, touchy feely and really excites me. She is all of a sudden a minor celebrity now that a video she made went viral.

I feel like it will be annoying if a lot of people recognize her though...

The above description shows she meets those impossible Loveweary standards.

She isn't getting a penny to come. She is getting fun, good times, sex and endless partying in a warm, sunny tropical environment. Downtime on uninhabited islands.

Here's the financial side... this is a factor in determining if it's sugar, I'm thinking, although I'm doing all of this anyway and want the right person to do it with. Numbers are rounded.

1) F* You All Access Passes that allow you to get into all the best parties no matter if they are sold out, if there is a bouncer or a line. Show the pass, say F* You and go right in. $500 per pass, $1000 total. Passes get you entry to the daytime pool parties and club parties at night. Everything sells out, so these are amazing.

2) Boat isn't ready for high maintenance chicks yet. $1000 Airbnb

3) Food/Drinks....and she can drink. Drinks $20 a pop. I recall $100 mojito pitchers last year too. This will run into $1000+ Food is pricey too. May stock the air bnb with groceries to offset eating out all the time.

4) Ultra Music Festival - Plan to go on Sunday when people are burnt out and selling their passes. $200 hopefully. They only sell full festival passes, not single day passes, so a lot of people are done by Sunday or can't attend and sell them.

5) Her flight. $400-500 I'm sure. 2,300 miles each way.

Really, the things that I'm paying for because she's coming are double of everything, food, airbnb and flight.

If I took the infamous yoga chick, who is local, I'd need no airbnb, less food and no flight. She has been texting non stop, I'm sure trying to go to this stuff because she knows it's coming up.

There is a 3rd girl who wants to come early in the week, but last time iwas with her, i got some kind of burning rash on my lips after oral. I'm not touching her. She pays for all her own stuff and just wants to hook up. But I'm scared of that. lol

So.... if I'm already doing Miami Music Week and have additional expenses due to having a date come in from across the country... but she is getting no financial compensation...

Is this considered sugar, or just normal dating where a guy pays the way?

Very grey area. Looking for a consensus...

Ummmmm..........???
