JOkER2 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I hit a rough patch and have been basically single for the last year with just some dates here and there. I went out with this girl the other night for dinner and margaritas. Went well. Where should I take her for next date? Redbox movie night? Regular movie night? Bowling? What's everyone think?
RecentChange Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Well, "Netflix and chill" usually has a connotation that there is going to be some "action" - Do you think she would be down for that on a second date? Bowling -eh, I personally hate bowling, but I do like the idea of an activity. And many people like movies (I don't), and I REALLY don't like them for a date activity because you can't talk and get to know your date! Where are you located? City / country / suburb? For dates, I like a "night out on the town" - a light bite, sushi, tapas etc, then cocktail bars - and romantic walks as we bar hop. Another favorite date activity is a little drive / day trip - we have many beaches, parks, mountains etc which are a short drive. A lot of opportunity to chat, and maybe pull over and take in a romantic view.

I like the day trip date capped with a nice evening dinner out. Also think bowling is a great date.
Author JOkER2 Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 Well I live in the suburbs in the Midwest so we don't have any mountains or beaches or anything like that. Maybe bar hopping would b cool. Idk about bowling because it's not really too original.
Mrin Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 One of those cocktails and canvass places where you drink and paint are pretty cool IMHO
Author JOkER2 Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 Ya I think that'd be fun. Any other ideas ?
spriggan2 Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Live music with chill bands has worked ok for me. Can relax and still talk, sit side by side, talk about music, leave whenever you want, drink if you want. Doesn't have to be the best band either. I like jazz for this, nice romantic mood, not too loud, talented musicians, seated, mellow crowd.

RecentChange Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Oh I like the quiz night idea! Those can be fun - and really opens up the door for lots of interaction / talking without much pressure. 1
Jabron1 Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 I'm taking a girl ice skating tomorrow. I got the idea from the Rocky movie. Can't go wrong with Rocky. I figure it worked on Adrian You can get ideas from anywhere, mate.
fitnessfan365 Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Yeah ice skating has been a go-to date for me in the past. My GF and I were actually going to do that this weekend, but I tweaked my ankle a bit earlier in the week. However I think people put far too much pressure on themselves to have "original" dates. All that should matter is you're spending time with someone who's company you enjoy no matter what the activity. But "Netflix and Chill" is definitely code for sex so a second date might be a bit soon.

However, my first date with her was down the pub. Second date was a restaurant, the pub and then back to mine. So, I thought I'd mix things up a bit Gotta keep things interesting.
d0nnivain Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Originality is over rated. Play tourist in your town or nearby. Go bowling play mini golf bar hop dinner go to an arcade like Dave & Busters check out the local high school theater production or other live theater if you have one regular movie picnic (depending on the weather) skiing / snow tubing / sledding rent & ride quads walk in the woods / hike play a sport together
PacMann87 Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 What's your budget for the date? Lounges are a good date spot. Not too bar or clubish. Able to talk and be intimate too. What's the weather like by you? If it's warm then go to the nearest large park. You can take her out for lunch and then go for a walk around the park or explore. Mini golf is timeless. A date is only corny or unimpressive if you feel like it is. Seen a photo the other day where they caught Derek Jeter and his fiancé mini golfing. If it's good enough for Jeets, it's good enough for anyone lol. Google search "events going on Saturday March 8th or the month of March in ___(whatever town/city you're in) . You'll get a ton of results with things that are happening around your area. They have promotions or shows, or concerts, or special offers at nice restaurants, etc for you to choose from. If I'm ever looking for something new to try I'll do this and scroll until I see something I think is interesting. Are you near a major sports team? Buy tickets to a game. Usually can buy cheap tix the day of the game to any teams events so look it up if you're into sports. I'm a big sports guy but even if I wasn't, I think a baseball game in the summer is the best date To go on. Dnt need to lay attention to the game all that much... Outdoors, nice day out, booze, food. Got it all. I can go on and on if that doesn't spark anything. What does this girl enjoy? How old are you and her? That would help narrow it down. What kind of guy are you/ as in what interests you, what are u comfortable doing with a girl. Is she outgoing/introverted? Check out a comedy club if there's any near you. Those are always fun. If she's laughing then it's impossible to be a Bad date. Just don't sit in the first row because some comics will make fun of the crowd and not everyone can take it.
