She who goes to the college I graduated recently. I'm about 20 miles away and go up to my old school every few weeks.. I just got her number but dont want to text her if I cant make it up there in the next week or so to meet up with her and get in a long text conversation for no reason.. Should I just text her saying "Hey its XX from tinder, Ill be coming up to xx in a few weeks and would love to meet up. Ill give you a call next time I'm there"?--and just leave it at that?... cause i know stuff dies away really fast but also don't want to get into a long drawn out text conversation. This would be the first time I text her, aside from tinder messaging. thoughts?

This would be the first time I text her, aside from tinder messaging. thoughts? Setting up a date with a Tinder bird for that far in the future is asking to be flaked on. Keep the plate spinning with a few flirty text convos, and then set up a date closer to that time when you feel the momentum is good. And have low expectations. Make plans so that if she flakes, you'll have a good time regardless.
PacMann87 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I wouldn't tell her that this far in advance with those words. I never liked explaining who I am to a girl on the first text that way. "Hey it's John from the bar.. Remember?" That's basically saying you're not intriguing enough to remember. You should start a texting convo with her and establish a back and forth before anything. Then once you do that... A week before you have your trip.. Text her "hey, I'm gonna be around __(name of her college or town) next week for a couple days. If you're around and wanna get together let me know and I'll come up with some fun ideas"
