So i have just learnt that i have gotten through with the police force. Its not going to begin soon, i have one exam again but its nothing i cant handle and i have also received a statement saying i have already qualified for it.

My mother does not like it though, nor do my sisters. Police officers in my country have it very hard and the crime rate is very high, also its like everyone is carrying guns now and its alot more dangerous now.

I honestly dont have a problem with it, i am very brave so i dont really feel fear when it comes to these things. Also i would work for alot more than what i make now, id literally make 3x what im making now. The cop job will also be permanant as the one i am in right now the contract is finishing next year april.

Idk if i would like it, its not my passion or anything and i am looking at it the wrong way honestly. Im looking at more pay, the shifts are good, people respect you as well and after 2 years you can be promoted to task force( which is more dangerous) and also after 2 years you can get time off for school.

Im getting older and i need a more stable job, i need to get a car as well and start really living because right now i really cant. On the other hand i can apply again next year and it might take a dew months but i will be able to suceed in it as i am a perfect candidate.

Ik its ultimately my choice but i just really need a since of direction here and what you guys think i should do.

Go for it! It's an opportunity for you, and it looks like you have considered the positives and the negatives.

I don't know what country you are from, but if you were considering a cop job in the USA, I would advise you to resist becoming a monster. I would advise you to remember that you are at war with crime, not at war with everyone who is not a police officer. You are supposed to be society's protectors, not society's prison guards.

Good luck, man!

I know its a great opportunity but it just doesn't feel right. And its not really something I like and I don't want to chase money because I end up in problems when I do.

And I don't wanna do things for the wrong reasons. Im jist really unsure.

Im from the caribbean. People despise police where i live. But there are alot of good cops out there.
