He just commented on one of my pictures on instagram and we started talking casually at first. It just got more serious because we both enjoyed talking to eachother. He told me a lot of personal stuff and sent pictures of his relatives and selfies of him with friends when they were hanging out. It just felt real. Realistically though, how serious could it ever get? You live on different continents. He liked the attention. That's about it.

I'm not sure if ExPatinItaly remembers replying to a few of my posts back several weeks ago, but this is all too familiar to me. Except I met the girl twice. Then boom, she blocks me on IG since thats all i have and stops replying. But we used to talk till we would fall asleep and the whole shi-bang. All i can say is it happens and you just can't get too attached. Sorry but it's just how it is. Can't sugar coat it. You were infatuated with the 'idea' of this person. Not clearly who they were considering you never even met up. Hope ExPatInItaly sees this and remembers
