qq2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I have hooked up with a guy for a few times. Last time when he wanted to hook up, he said "love you" at the end of his texts, I didn't believe it and assumed that he just wanted me to give in and have sex with him again, so that was why he said "love you" Did he really mean something when he said "love you" in his text? He didn't really have to use this word...
d0nnivain Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I'd think it was a throw away phrase at this point not a meaningful declaration. 1

angel.eyes Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 If all you do is hook up, then your first interpretation is correct. He's not truly in love with you. If he were, he would be building a relationship with you, not just hooking up from time to time.
stillafool Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I usually use "love you" when I write notes to my gfs and I'm a woman. I wouldn't read much into it unless he says "I'm in love with you".
Larryville Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Last time when he wanted to hook up, he said "love you" at the end of his texts, Dude did the ILU via text messaging so he can shield himself in case of rejection. Whatever the reason may be, acknowledging it sooner rather than later will avoid any awkwardness the next time he meets you. But make no mistake someone who send an ILU via a text (and had not said it in person, and does not really know you) has some deeper issues going on. No reasonable thoughtful person who is mentally or emotionally aware would never do that via a freaking text. That is creepy.
