WaitingForBardot
... I mean, I have an affinity for Asian women, but I don't go to events geared specifically for that. Now there Meetups for those who appreciate an Asian culture, but if women there caught wind of a guy saying, "Oh, I joined this group because I have a thing for Asian women." Then he would then be chastised and probably be booted out by the organizer altogether. ... Speaking generally only, I don't believe Asian women are treated quite as dismissively as the overweight. My last LTR before I met my wife was Japanese and she lived with several other Asian women. They were arguing one night because one of them was going out with a guy that the others thought had yellow fever and were annoyed with her for even considering the date. She replied that she didn't much care why someone was attracted to her in the beginning and the ones that only liked her because she was Asian sorted themselves out soon enough. Personally I thought her attitude was great.
GunslingerRoland
I think there is a huge difference between a preference and a fetish. I don't think it needs to be offensive, or only for sex. That said, there may be men who think it's a place to find easy sex as like DoT said, some men assume that all bigger girls are desperate and easy.

WaitingForBardot
So, the hanging question, OP. Are you planning to attend? A book came out within the last few years about common searches on google. IIRC, image searches for overweight/fat women were among the most common. This makes me wonder how many of the guys that go on and on about tight, slender bods and taut bellies are actually off secretly fapping to images of chubby women... ..lol..
Michelle ma Belle
I just find it rather odd that there are organizations that cater to specific body types. This is the first time I've witnessed this to be an actual Meetup. The site is even sexualized with obese women pictured in lingerie which is indicator of such a specific fetish. First of all, I doubt women would chastise you or any man for having an appreciation for them and/or their culture unless you walked in the room with your d*ck hanging out of your pants. Second, enjoying men or women with a bit more meat on the bones hardly classifies as a fetish. Having said that, there is a thing called Fat Fetishism which is sexual attraction to severely overweight or obese people. A variety of fat fetishism is feederism or gaining, where sexual gratification is obtained not from the fat itself but from the process of gaining, or helping others gain, body fat. Fat fetishism also incorporates stuffing and padding, whereas the focus of arousal is on the sensations and properties of a real or simulated gain. This is something totally different. And again, sexualizing women is nothing new for heaven's sake. I doubt you'd bat an eyelash had it been pictures of young skinny women with big boobs prancing around in their bikini's or lingerie. Hell, those are a dime a dozen just about anywhere anymore and no one really questions their intentions. But put a chubby girl in that same pose and suddenly it's assumed she's some desperado and an easy lay because she's been deprived of love and affection. Give me a break Edited February 18, 2016 by Michelle ma Belle
GemmaUK
[] People like different things and it's OK and normal and is not a fetish. I'm a US size 6/8 but for me I prefer a man to have a tum - not waist - but a tum around 35 to 40 inches max. I am also one of those yoga ladies (whom you seem to like). But heck! I know many very happily marrieds, newly datings and engaged folk of all shapes. sizes and ages. I wonder sometimes if you are shooting for perfection when you may not be that yourself. Shining One
I think Meetups of this nature are a great idea. The disenfranchised of the dating world should have opportunities to meet people who find them appealing. They should have some for short men, Asian men, and any other groups that struggle.
xxoo
Would you assume that men who have a strong preference for thin women are fetishists and only interested in sex?
