Just my experience or are good looking white brunettes in the USA somewhat rare?

I was a natural blonde till my hair went dirty blond. Darker hair makes me look washed out, so I dye it to my original color.

Almost no natural blondes keep extremely light hair through adulthood unless they are in the sun all the time.

Same here. Until I was 11, I had hair like the kid in Poltergeist. I was quite glad when it darkened up..though it darkened up slightly more than I wanted it to. This, in anybody past puberty, is very unusual.

I live in the Northeast and as a "white brunette", I do find myself competing in a sea of women with bleached blonde hair or sun-kissed highlights. It is quite interesting.

I think the best feature for anyone is a welcoming smile. People are so glued to their phones that they don't even present themselves in an approachable way. But I digress...

I love my dark hair though!

That is part of what I was getting at guys, brunettes are genetically more common than blondes but America probably leads the world when it comes to having bottle blondes. Sororities in college as well as cheerleading squads are loaded with them for instance and that kind of look flies well in the USA.

Where have you been looking? The US is pretty diverse. If you've been looking in certain places where the nordic people settled (the upper midwest), or in California (as you mentioned "bottle" blonde culture), or maybe even the south (not sure about this), yeah, you're likely to encounter a lot of blondes. Lucky you.

So I guess what I was getting at with this thread is where in the country you have a lot of good looking brunettes who tend to stay brunette. In California you have a HUGE bottle blonde culture but I wonder where in the USA that is not so much the case.

The answer is easy. The New York metro area is packed with unapologetic brunettes. In New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut the largest ethnic group is Italian. Everyone defaults to black clothing and the dark hair is just as embraced, from what I can tell. Brunettes outnumber blondes by a wide margin, and I'd know because I love 'em blonde and they seem like a rarity. Come to the city and you won't be disappointed.

True.

They certainly aren't even close to all white anymore in the city though. Mostly Asian and Hispanic.

Still, looking all the way down a subway car from one end to the other, over their heads, I see tons of hot, brown/brown petite girls in Manhattan. It's where most of my fwb or whatever live.

If you want the white ones, most grew up in the suburbs of NYC.

Long Island, Westchester and New Jersey.

I'd say Connecticut is vastly blonde/blue though. (for white people)

When I was at university, there were lots of American students there studying abroad who were incredibly good looking. I think it's the mixture of lots of nationalities and cultures in one place - fascinating.

Scotland has lots of brunettes. I'm brunette - I have dark hair (almost black), dark brown eyes and (very) mildly tanned skin and I think this comes from my Scottish ancestry but I also have a minuscule amount of Spanish ancestry. I think brown hair is fairly common here.

I get compared to Morticia Adams because I have long dark hair.

I like all hair colours and disagree with those who say men prefer blondes. Unless it's a unique American thing.

The percentage is much higher in Europe.

Italy is loaded with them.

My very dear Italian friend from Milan (who is the wrong body type for me and dies her hair blonde) has taken the time to look at my preference in women and direct me to where they exist in Europe.

Apparently, Sardinia is the promise land of short, in shape, 100lbs brunettes with practically black hair/eyes.

Northern Italy not so much but Sardegna yes and most of the south as well. Many darker haired and skin tone people there.

Good luck with with women from that Island though... They're some of the highest maintenance types in existence :p

Interesting. What neighborhoods? It's tough to judge just by looking at the demographics of a subway car. Everyone's commuting somewhere else, it doesn't imply residence. Plenty of ethnic minorities work in Manhattan, it definitely doesn't mean they live here. I live in Midtown and it seems like mostly only white people live here from what I can tell.

Having grown up in suburban CT town where the extent of the diversity was "a few Asian people" I can't say I agree. Brown hair/eyes is still the dominant gene anywhere you go, and Italian is the most prominent ethnic group throughout the tri-state area. That doesn't mean there aren't a good amount of blondes, but they definitely aren't the "vast" majority. Not even close to a majority. I wish.

Regardless OP, I don't think you'll be disappointed anywhere in metro NY. You've got the dominant gene, the high population, the high density, and the culture all on your side here.

i'm in the NE.

I see slim long straight haired brunets all day long in the city.

They are all mid to young 20's though so too young for me.

But still nice to look at.

Good point on the subway car. Bad data there. I had always thought of it as the great leveler of neighborhoods, but you're right. Lots of people from the BX and BK on them commuting.

Midtown? It's barely even residential though, except on the extreme east/west sides and west only just became so in the past couple years. The vast, vast majority of people living in Manhattan aren't from NYC originally either, so that also complicates the demographic. You're as likely to run into someone from Idaho as you are from Hartford. lol

I mean... that far west new building stuff...i don't even know who lives in them. Pretty underdeveloped neighborhood, imo. Far east we have Murray Hill and Turtle Bay. Turtle Bay is all the new frat bros moving into the city from throughout the country. Murray Hill is an odd mix of old and middle age white people.

Midtown proper is almost all commuters working in offices, racing to trains and tourists, including the areas between 5th and 7th.

I'm thinking of LES, East Village, NYU areas, Times Square (and subway cars) when thinking of ethnicities. Given, UES and Turtle Bay, commuting to work in the Chrysler Building or the banks on Park Ave are a lot more white (and boring... lol)

I wonder if we both just see the negative. lol

When I'm in CT and people I know from there,it's always these blonde people. From Greenwich, deep CT, etc. Possibly you're from an Italian area? As one goes deeper into CT, it becomes quite "New Englandy", which is dry, blonde/blue, stuffy.

But... those blonde/blue are becoming more and more rare allthe time.

Not rare at all. Even in California....

Like crucible said lots of scottish or black irish people have the type of coloring you find attractive.

There are tons of gorgeous brunettes (and blondes) in LA and other parts of california. IME also in areas where it does tend to run super blonde, you will get attention just from being brunette. Lots of guys like brunettes. Actually there was an article just last week online which describe the majority of guys preferences (via stats) and it actually matches what your is. So maybe you can't find many because they are in high demand and coupled up?

I notice that a lot of the good looking (fit with a pretty face) white women I see in the USA are blonde, natural and in majority of the cases not natural.

On the other hand, it seems like while the Megan Fox, Courteney Cox, and Lauren Cohan lookalikes do exist but they are much less common.

Like for example. I can go to an area like a beach town or college town and see it loaded with hot blondes but it seems like it is rare for me to find an area of the USA that is loaded with good looking white brunettes. Most of the good looking brunettes are either Hispanic or ethnic, never really white.

Maybe I am overthinking it or maybe it is my area but does anyone else find that good looking white brunettes are somewhat rare in the USA?

HAHA, I understand what you mean. That's my physical "type" as well, and I used to feel like I had the same problem.

Set your intention to noticing them. Sometimes, you just have to create the space in your mind for it to appear. They could be hovering around just outside what you notice. At least it was that way for me. When I started really setting my intention to seeing these type of women, I would start seeing them in real life. I'm dating one now! :) She knocks my socks off.

I love brunettes...number of them Ive dated: ZERO

Seriously, everyone tells me "Oh that type again" once I start dating another blonde.

It just happens for some reason lol

I'm to much of a coward to seek out women and blondes always seem to be the ones who come after me.

Well I mean, you've identified the problem. What can you do now to change that?

I'm a brunette with hazel eyes and pale skin in California. I've never been discriminated against for having dark hair. There are tons of brunettes here...

fwiw I get WAY more brunettes than blondes, esp. 'authentic' blondes. Could have a lot to do w/my tastes but on the other hand it's not like I discriminate. It's been pretty much true across the board everywhere I go. Not a big world traveler but where I have been I see the same thing more or less.

What about all the beautiful brunette Jewish American girls? Or are those being discarded as "not really white" ?

Never heard of a Jewish person not being considered white. Judaism isn't even a race! I'm Jewish but I'm also Russian and I have pale Russian skin..(well, Russian American..)

Am I not white??? Have I been putting down the wrong race on my tax forms? Dammit could I have been getting better tax breaks?? Ugh, now you tell me!

I am dark haired and blue eyed with fair skin. I hear comparisons to Megan Fox , Jennifer Connelly, Snow White and to the other extreme: some porno star named Stoya or something (okay, hmmn.)

I've lived in the South where there were mostly blonde women. When I lived on the East coast, most of the women were brunettes. I have noticed, though, wherever I go, that there are many more brunettes around these days. I think it's more in style now to have dark hair.

Just keep your eyes open. We brunettes are everywhere. I think it's just more natural to notice the blondies first.

There's always a ton of smoking hot blondes, but that lone dark haired brunette with the light eyes blows them all away every time. Just my personal opinion lol

Hell yeah!! I found her and married her!:p

Lots of pretty brunettes here in Texas. Blondes and redheads, and everything in between seem to be common too.
