He's a little bit younger than me but I knew I wanted him from the first time I saw him. At the time I had a bf and I was happy with him but I still enjoyed flirting with work boy. And Im going to be honest, I wasn't trying to just volunteer the information that I had a bf. In fact, I didn't want work boy to know unless he asked or it came up some how. Well a few weeks ago by bf dumped me anyways. And that DID come up in conversation we were having with a customer about valentines day. I said I didn't have a valentine this year because I was dumped and I laughed about it, and he said he didn't either. So I assume right there that he is single. So the flirting at work continues the next couple weeks. He's always smiling at me when he walks by, always hanging out at my checkstand and talking to me. He would move chairs in the break room to be right next to me and he said I was his favorite person at work. The chemistry between us was so intense that it drove me crazy. I never wanted anyone more. And 2 days ago I could have SWORN he said he didnt have a gf because we were laughing about those giant teddy bears and I teased him about getting one to cuddle at night and I am almost positive he said "yea well its not like I have a gf to". Well yesterday I said "so do you have a girl friend?" and he says yes!!! Then he asks why. Do you really have to ask why?? I told him because I thought he didnt but I wasn't sure. He then proceeds to ask "well didnt you just get out of a relationship?" and "how long were you together?". Anyways so Im pretty ticked off because clearly he would have never ever mentioned his gf unless I outright asked him. Edited February 15, 2016 by butterball

It's quite possible you misheard him, or used wishful thinking to interpret what he said to suit your mindset. Or he lied to you. The thing is... It doesn't matter...move on.
