So I've been seeing this girl I really like for 1.5 months or so now. It has accelerated pretty quickly and we have plans to go on a trip together in the next month and already have events planned for the next several weekends.

With Valentines day coming up we have a nice dinner planned and then plan on spending time in front of the fire place :)

We have not said the L word yet but its obvious we both really like each other. Talk/text every day etc. we have met some of our mutual friends.

WTF kind of card do I get her?? Or do I even need to get her a card? I looked today and all of them have "love" written all over them. I don't even know if she's into getting cards but in past relationships I have learned that most women expect to get a card (I didn't grow up in the US). The timing of this one is just damn inconvenient :)

You don't really need to get her a card if you make a big fuss over her on Valentine's. The 14th is a Sunday. Will you be seeing her?

Yes we've got a dinner planned and then spend the evening together. Okay maybe I'll forget about the card then. The whole thing seems stupid to me anyway but women I've been with in the past have been all into getting this valentines card.

A card isn't necessary.

If you do want to get one though, they sell blank cards and you can just write your own message instead of the pre-made love ones.

Here is what I would do.

Get a card. As close to blank as you can, and write something.

Then keep it somewhere hidden in case she pulls out one for you.

If not, then I'd not bother.

joseb gave great advice ...

I just want to say that I am with you on the cards - it was totally overwhelming in Hallmark surrounded by cards about being someone's soulmate and professing their love, to funny sex joke cards, but not much in between. It was stressful, lol! After a long search, I actually did find something appropriate. Good luck!

Get her one as plain as possible that says Happy Valentine's Day. Sign it either with just your name or Fondly, Warmly, or some such word that is not love.

There are plenty of blank cards on the shelf. Hallmark usually has a great selection of just simple be my valentine ones that don't express love.
