Don't say the obvious.

My boyfriend and I have been together for about a year and a half now, both 26 and he's been a workaholic lately. I want to get him something/s for valentines day that can help him destress and sit back to be pampered. He wouldn't be game to have a spa day, so I don't want to do anything big like that. But I was just thinking of little things I could put together in a basket for him as a 'I know you've been stressed lately, enjoy' type thing. Any ideas? I thought of maybe icy hot patches for back pain, lavender oils, back massager? I don't know?

Wear a big red bow and nothing else.

Lay him down and tell him "i'll do everything..."

Then do everything...

Sorry, nothing else will be as appreciated as much as that...

...Nothing

I said don't say the obvious! Lol. That's already a given. Let's assume that's already happening.

Lavender oils? Spa days?

Get him a Playstation or some video-games. Men like shooting guns, blowing stuff up, and partaking in street fights when stressed (all in a virtual world, of course).

Agreed.

Order him in a pizza (or fried chicken, or whatever he likes), set him up with a six-pack of his favourite beer to go with it.

The lavender oil, while certainly a thoughtful gesture, would probably be better appreciated by someone who is into spa-like treatments.

I'm going to go with your original line of thought. I can see a day spa wouldn't work for him. But what about a your local remedial masseur?

Tickets for a concert/festival/sports event, a videogame, a basket filled with his favorite food and beer.... and give him the massage yourself

A home cooked meal, a six pack of beer...and a blow job to completion.

The gift basket you describe seems more like something you would like to get, rather than something he would want.

I bottle of his favorite whiskey was the 1st thought that popped into my mind.

If you aren't a fan of booze, get him a portable massage chair. I have one at work. They are under $100. You can get them at Bed Bath & Beyond or any big box store that sells home appliances. You put it over your chair. There are straps to hold it in place. You get some vibrations & heat. It's not as good a really massage or even the chairs at the salon when you get a pedicure but it's soothing especially when you have been working too hard.

Sure a gift basket of small but thoughtful things is nice and his choice of beverages perhaps. And yes the "obvious" thing.

When it comes to stress the thing my wife does for me that works everytime and I so appreciate it is giving me a naked weekend. She doesn't plan on going anywhere or having company over.

It doesn't cost a thing and it's worth a ton to me. Sure makes going to work on Mondays harder though!

The obvious thing is obvious for a reason. It's the best solution.

Yep. Sorry but the obvious thing is the only thing you need. The rest is just trinkets or cool stuff or whatever which is all good in its way but if his issue is really stress and you want to relieve that stress, the single best thing you can do - and the only thing you really need to do - is give him that blow job. (And make it good.) Then let him sleep.
