As some may know I have a "thing" about Valentines day in that single or not these days I go off and make the whole thing loads of fun.

So this week/ weekend I do not have a free night. I am out and doing loads. I have a ton of theatre tickets booked and its going to be awesome!

What are you doing this year?

My babygirl is flying in this weekend, so I'll be spending it with her. It's been a few years since she's been here and although I saw her at Christmas when I went home to the midwest, I had to share her with her dad's side of the family. Now, I get her all to myself!!

This is the first I'm single for in seven years and will mark the two week anniversary of when my wife told me she didn't love me and it was over. Not really sure what I plan to do. Long walk by the river possibly then uh, watch a film?

Whips and chains ....the usual stuff. ;)

We this is the first time in my life that I am not involved with a thoughtless retarded guy who had no interest in celebrating valentine's day.

For the first time EVER I am being taken out to dinner by my boyfriend, to the place where we had our first date no less.

He is also wanting to give me a gift. He's made that known. Probably a Pandora charm or a nice dress knowing him:love:

This is groundbreaking for me... I have always wondered what it was like to get taken out for dinner on valentine's day.

I have always had plenty of men that wanted to treat me that special say but much to my disappointment, I picked the duds who either just weren't that into me or who were too poor or tight @ss to fork out a penny for me.

:p

An oldie, but a goody.

Anyway, I'm being a thoughtless, retarded guy this year. I'm hiding for a week or two.

I'll probably just have a little cry. No different to any other Sunday then...

That's really sad. What is it with women and celebrations like V Day, Birthdays, Christmas, etc? I had a woman last year try and cuff me for Christmas. She clearly wasn't interested in me as a person, because she told me that she was busy all through November but tried to make plans with me for Christmas lol.

If you can't be happy on your own, you can't be happy.

:( I hope not Artist. If I were bossier I would insist that you don't. I've had my share of V days alone, I never put enough stock in it to get me down though and Sunday is such a peaceful/mellow/cool day of the week. Sorry that you are blue and I hope it ends up not being true (the crying.)

~~~~~~Horrible segway, apologies ~~~~~~~
G. and I will be flying on a zip-line course I have been wanting a long time to do and throwing steaks on the grill. I'm so excited for....all of it. :love::love:
You're way too cultured for that T so I'll do it ....Artist, I order you not to cry on V-Day. And don't even think about disobeying my commands. :p
My girlfriend and I are both single this year and made plans to do an evening Pilates class and then go out to dinner.
Kind of relieving to not have to do anything for anyone this year.
I really like the idea of doing something nice for someone else though. I'm going to try and come up with something!
I'm probably gonna spend most of my day travelling half the country. So that'll be fun...
On Valentines Day, it's the first day of my weekend since I work on Saturday. I'm going to be enjoying the day off and I am going to buy myself a Valentines Day present and take advantage of the special offers in the shops to treat myself. I also have my spinning class in the evening that day.
I'm planning to set up a diary of events for the next month in the hope that I may actually meet someone. At the moment, I go to work, go help out at a youth group twice a week and then I might go to the gym and I am back in my bed so my chances of meeting new people are pretty much nil. I meet new people at work all the time since I work at a museum but they are mostly foreign tourists, families and pensioners.
Looking back at Valentines Days in the past, I never really had a great one even when in a relationship. Well I lie, I would go for dinner with previous boyfriends but it always felt like they didn't really enjoy it and they were just going through the motions. I don't have huge expectations but I've always been with guys who hate doing anything with me which involves spending money (we were students though).
No don't. You come across as an awesome person on here. We would totally crack open a beer and have a laugh about bad romance stories if we were in the same neck of the woods. :) I absolutely love this site for allowing me to complain about dating from time to time. I find it really hard to do that in front of my partnered-up friends as I'm sure some of them secretly look down on me for my single status.
This is my first Vday and really first "holiday" that I have been single in a long time. I am actually looking forward to it.
My plans are:
Make a list of things I want to do this spring & summer
Plan a cool vacation
Go shopping for myself - which I have not done in a while
Shop for furniture: I'm decorating my master bedroom & bath (theme = manly yet chic friendly)
Meet friend for drink and apps
Work on my taxes
Watch a movie
Have a cocktail
Cook a steak
Relax
A few of the many things I have planned for you this weekend. :love:
I've spent valentines days alone before and of course it's always better with someone you love but being alone really only sucks if you make it. So good for those who aren't making it suck.
It's just another Sunday for me. I'll probably do a Walking Dead marathon. But it's really annoying to constantly see V Day commercials on TV, and get emails with special offers. Like the one I just got, because last year I ordered some flowers for a girl I was dating back then...
I wouldn't even be aware of V Day if it wasn't for those constant reminders
I don't give a f... about Valentine's day and never did.
The whole thing makes me cringe even when I am not single.
Aww you guys are awesome. I wasn't really going to cry on Valentine's Day! I do kind of wish I had someone to spoil though, but I'm fine, honest! Another day, right?
If anyone does happen to be passing through my area, let's do lunch! ;)
I'll be in Manchester wearing my Deadpool costume and wondering if I'll have any cards to open when I get back... and then remembering that I won't.
