Jarcoren Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Here is the deal: I know this girl on Facebook but we haven't had a conversation by messenger or anything, she is like a crush to me, we don't know each other but I really want to ask her out I know where she works and all but I don't know how to ask her out One of my ideas was to meet her at her work and try to talk to her (she is a dentist) maybe make an appointment first, but a friend told me that was stupid and she would freak out and say no My friend told me I should chat with her on Facebook for some time and then I may ask her on a date on Facebook I really don't know what to do I really need advice Thank you
d0nnivain Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 While I am not a fan of the FB chat for meeting people, at this point it's your only option. Do not show up at her office. That seems creepy & stalker like. If you can tell from her FB page where she is going to be, show up there. Rather than outright asking for the 1st date / meet, in this instance because you have never met I advocate giving her the safety of an open invitation. Next time you & your BFFs are getting together for drinks or something (organize something if this isn't a regular thing in your group) mention it to her, after you have exchanged some messages over the course of at least a week. Something along the lines of: As much as I enjoy "talking" to you like this, I'd love to be able to hear your voice. A bunch of my friends are going to be at the corner cafe on Friday listening to this cool band. If you don't have office hours & appointments too early the next day why don't you grab a couple of friends & meet us there? It'll be fun. No pressure.
Robratory Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 If you've never communicated with her, she's basically a stranger. And if she really is a stranger, your best bet is to find someone you know in common, and ask that person to make some kind of introduction. Definitely, do not show up unannounced at her work. That only works in the movies. In real life, for women, it's between annoying and terrifying.
