I saw my city was having a fashion show this weekend so I thought perfect second date. I invited her and she accepted. Then I looked at a video of last year's show...omg the lamest thing I've ever seen. I thought it would be like the runway with models in cool outfits and the audience dressed super chic. Instead its inside a department store where the models glide down the escalator to the crowd of middle aged women dressed like they've just come from church. Ugh, if only I'd known. The problem is the show is tomorrow. Is it still fine to tell her hey I think this looks super lame, want to do something else?

I'd send her the video and tell her what you told us and propose something else. It will be better if you already have a substitute date in mind than simply saying "This is lame, wanna do something else?" Tell her it's not what you thought, send a link to the video, ask if she'd still like to go and say if not, let's do xyz instead. 1

Also, just because the fashion show seemed lame to you, doesn't mean she will feel the same way. Take her to the show, then follow up with dinner. Let her know beforehand that you'll be doing both the show and dinner.
d0nnivain Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Without characterizing it as lame, do show her the video & ask if she still wants to go. You can confess it's not what you were expecting but you're game if she is although you would be up for something else. Be flexible.
