KiwiGuy1985 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 (edited) I'm 30 years old, 6ft.2, bulky, olive skin, brown eyes, consider myself handsome, Jewish, and am very confident. I am so into punk women, I just love their hair style, tattoos, white skin, piercings, and their F you attitude. I just love it, and I think it's the sexist thing ever. I've had dreams of rocking out with a punk chick on stage while she screams into her microphone, and the crowd cheers. I was married for 7 years, and my ex-wife was non-punk. During our relationship, I had a very close female friend that was punk that wanted to hook up with me, but I had to turn her down, because I was already taken. After my divorce, I had a one night stand with a punk chick on Tinder that had a Mohawk and tattoos, and I was on cloud nine. I work at a job that has a lot of young women, and there's a punk chick that's really friendly with me compared to the other girls. Another one also stops and says hi to me when I pass her. Is there anyway I can guarantee myself to get a punk girlfriend, or will this just be up to fate? I'm reading a psychology book on how to make yourself appear more attractive in front of women, and it said that you will attract whatever woman that reflects your subconscious mind. This means I'll likely attract this kind, or I could just become punk myself. I do want to sound selfish, I guess I'd be happy even if she was non-punk. My current plan is to research punk culture, look into some gigs this summer, and then look for some local gatherings/clubs. It seems like it is influenced with paganism based on the drawings like skulls, bats, and ghosts. I feel that if this is what I really want, I should be a man and aim for first place, and not last. The other morning, I heard a voice in my head that said "seek the diamond in the rough". Thanks. Edited February 2, 2016 by KiwiGuy1985

I really, really, really think you should be focusing on other qualities of your potential partner than whether they fit into some pathetic ideal model you've created in your head... Of all the shallow threads...seriously... 3
basil67 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 When I read this, it seems you want the punk aesthetic, but you'd have to be on board with the lifestyle and attitude. Self expression, non-conformity, alternative lifestyle and probably very left wing attitudes. I would imagine you'd have to be open to drug use. Is this you at heart? Because if you're fairly straight but with a penchant for the aesthetic, you'd be better off playing dressups with a regular girl. Playing dressups is where I sit, but with Goth. With all the skulls, bats and stuff. I've got a couple of old goth friends who introduced me to the lifestyle. While I do have the ability to not judge outsiders and love the post-punk music and aesthetic, my involvement is purely in the realms of dressing up as a goth and clubbing with them. But I'm not a goth and I doubt I'd get a goth boyfriend if I wanted one. Anyway, if you really want this, I'd start by making sure your attitude to life fits the punk idea. Then buy yourself some Doc Martens, black clothes, get a couple of piercings and an edgy haircut and see how you go.
IronZ Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Don't they have clubs and stuff that appease to groups of people like this? Try looking around your area. You might find a club/bar where punk rockers like to hang out. Go and talk to some girls.
edgygirl Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I don't think his thread is shallow at all. OP, I am also Jewish and also into a subculture - goth and synth. People outside subcultures don't understand how important it is to find someone who "gets" us and gets how we think. Try to go to the right events and be in the right websites. A lot of people into subcultures for some reason gravitate to Fetlife site... worth trying to find punk groups there. As for events, are you in a large urban area? I know it's like a needle in the haystack... but... Do not give up, there are a few people that would fit your bill out there and it's worth making the effort to find them.
Maggie4 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 But, kiwiguy, punk is like from 40 years ago. I was in the punk scene during the 70's. You'd have to find a girl who's into retro/oldies. Very few punk girls now, cos young girls don't want to do the same thing their moms did, ha ha. 1

I don't want a girl to do punk dress up, because she wouldn't have the personality to go with it. I'm more of as looking towards the cultural and personality part, and not just the style. I am bald, so I cannot do any stylish haircuts. You do seem to have a point though. It would seem I'd have better chances if I turned myself punk, because it would attract the same kind. My only issue may be drug use. I wouldn't care if my significant other did it, but I certainly wouldn't do it based on several factors (health, education, job). Edited February 2, 2016 by KiwiGuy1985

Yep, I'm thinking I really should search for a punk girl since this is what my heart desires, so I'll make the first step by looking into some communities and concerts. I just don't want to come off as a creep by asking a punk girl out out of the blue, and she doesn't have a level of interest. I figure my chances would be better if she showed an interest first (dropped subtle cues), and then I'd ask. I've noticed that when men approach women, it never works that way. I'm going to have to be patient.

Based on your first post, you know very little about punk culture and attitude. How can you want it if you don't know what it is? I'm sure you like the idea, but you're jumping the gun if you want to be part of a subculture without actually knowing what it involves. I suspect that you'd be like me when I go Goth - a complete fraud who's just having a bit of fun.

Maggie4 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I still believe there is hope......even if this is an old fad...... It may be old, historic, but it was no fad. You calling it a fad... ugh! I guess you're too young to understand.

I suspect that you'd be like me when I go Goth - a complete fraud who's just having a bit of fun. I really don't know anything about the culture except for what I've seen out in the open. Here, I'll explain it all piece by piece. Hair: The flashy hair with different colors is very beautiful, sexy, and dazzling. As for Mohawks, I used to not be a fan of short hair styles, but ever since I rubbed my hand over that girl's Mohawk that one night, I literally had goosebumps. Tattoos: I used to not be a fan of tattoos on women since I thought they looked too masculine, but I'm beginning to love the coloring the patterns that are used. The colors are dazzling, and go with the hair style. Piercings: Another part of the style that adds interest. It's something new and exciting. I'd love to french kiss a girl with a tongue piercing. Earrings with style also work for me. Attitude: I love women that are confident. This does not mean she's masculine, it just means she has self esteem, does not give up, and believes she can do what she wants. I love the rebel part of her, the part where she feels she can take on anything. Skin tone: Her skin must be white. I don't care for women with darker skin since I am an olive complexion. The white skin (Caucasian) fits with the punk style. Music tastes: Jamming out to the best tunes while just doing some crazy stuff would make my day brighter, and more exciting. And last.... Star: No, I'm not saying she has to be a celebrity or popular. I just love the idea of her going on stage, singing and dancing in front of a large crowd. I've done this before. The reason why this means so much to me is because when I do this, I just feel more alive. I feel welcomed, and the energy coming from everyone. I hope my dream comes true.....

lilmissjava Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Punk is about just the attitude and individualism. Not the white skin, piercings, tattoos etc. And it really isn't about bats, skulls and ghosts. Come on. You want to know more about the origins of the punk movement, take a look at Julian Temple's bio pic of The Sex Pistols "The Filth and the Fury". 2
road Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 My bad. Subculture. I was born in 85. Subculture = Fad Same thing. Though to me more of a sub-subculture.
CarrieT Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 But, kiwiguy, punk is like from 40 years ago. I was in the punk scene during the 70's. You'd have to find a girl who's into retro/oldies. Very few punk girls now, cos young girls don't want to do the same thing their moms did, ha ha. This was totally my thought as well. I was born in '64 and *I* was punk in 70s - pretty much from my 12th year into my 20s... Punks now are totally retro and have a different mindset. To me, they are wannabes.... 2
Author KiwiGuy1985 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 I really think punk girls aren't hard to find if you look in the right places. Because this isn't the 80's, they are more scarce, so you'd have to know where they are at. I've noticed whenever I swipe on Tinder, the profiles even seem scarce, however, I always super like them.
Author KiwiGuy1985 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 My favorite picture on Google images so far: http://cdn.acidcow.com/pics/20101228/punk_girls_58.jpg God, I love this music: 1
preraph Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 To get a punk girlfriend you just have to immerse yourself in punk culture. I was in it in the late '70s. In fact I was briefly in the first Sex Pistols documentary, DOA. That was the first wave and I was in my late 20s. So just go to all the local punk clubs and concerts and you'll meet people. You can't just mail-order one. You have to be one to get one!
GorillaTheater Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 God, I love this music: I've seen them perform in Austin! Your tastes are pretty specific, OP. From a guy who was slam-dancing before you were born, good luck. 2
smackie9 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 But...but...this is my dream! And this is what hookers are for.......You can get your punk chick anytime you want.
smackie9 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I don't know what fru fru stuff you are listening to but THIS is punk........ 2
