carhill Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Welcome to LS. IMO, your psyche respects human genetic history. In my book, pretty normal stuff. Heh, I was just thinking of that old police car slogan, to protect and serve. Back when I was married, my exW liked my protective side and I enjoyed and valued her serving me, that meaning something as simple as making me a sandwich for lunch. There was something about service like that which spoke to me, perhaps similar to how 'protection' speaks to a woman. IDK.
xxoo Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Did you have a protective father? I did, and was attracted to the same quality in a mate. I think it's a healthy attraction pattern. It's worked out well for me. How is it working for you?
d0nnivain Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 It depends on what you mean by protective. If you are hiding behind your mate & expecting him to do everything that might not be good. If you simply like gentlemen who hold the umbrella, & shovel the driveway in the snow, or similar "protective" behavior, you are probably fine.
Popsicle Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 i always like protective guys but not overly possesive. I wonder what that means about me. if anyone could help that would be great I love them too, but I keep that to myself. I have never met a man who liked that a woman liked that, not sure why. Either they are or they aren't naturally protective, and I just take note of it to myself.
