What's your opinion on overreacting during a relationship?

Here's an example:

"One of my friends recently broke up with her boyfriend because he saw her walking with another boy who just happens to be one of her best friends (and an ex with whom she had a mutual break up) and jumped to the conclusion that she was cheating on him with her ex."

What is your opinion on overreacting being the cause of a breakup?

Do you think there's a chance that they could get back together (my friend and her most current boyfriend)?

Unless your partner has given you reason to think they would stray or be unfaithful it's exactly that, an OVERreaction. There is no place for that in a happy and healthy relationship.

My opinion is that she will end up lonely if she carries on dumping guys for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

So, why did the BF and this supposedly best male friend and former partner not know each other? Had they known each other, interacted, and all being platonic and the past being the past, no issues. Or, do they know each other and BF is not welcoming of a former lover in their relationship dynamic. Or, do they know each other and BF is unreasonably jealous of former lover who is now openly supportive of the new relationship of his former GF. Or, did the GF break up with current BF to be with former lover?

Hard to know. Can't read minds.
