veganpilot Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I have cut all ties with Zoosk 2 years ago. It came to my attention today that some user manage to salvage my phone number and email address from that site, that refuses to deactivate my profile! He's harassing me on it, and when continually asked where he got my number and email from, he said "hahaha, it's just an app", thinking that statement justifies his stalking behaviour. On my email, he can find out my Facebook account, or he could even hack into my email address to find personal details to aid his stalking! Subscription dating sites block all numbers, AIM and email addresses people put on their profile by moderating them. I NEVER put my email on my profile, so how did he manage to hack into the system to get my phone number and email? CREEPY.
Gaeta Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 And we can get hit by a car crossing the street any day. Hackers have existed since Internet exist. They don't only hack dating sites. They hack your bank account, your debit and credit card, etc. I have been on zoosk. When you're done with them you have to call them and confirm the deletion of our profile. They wrote it in font size 72 on their last page. 3
Snakechammah Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 This is why my email address for all dating sites or whatever other sites are different to my facebook and paypal account. Keep them seperate. 6

At best, I would say it's some internet searching mixed with (maybe) some social engineering. Do you use the same password everywhere?
Arieswoman Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Veganpilot, That's smart advice from snakechammah. When I used dating sites I not only used a different e-mail address and p/w I used a different 'phone number which I kept only for that purpose. So if that 'phone rang I knew it would be someone from the dating site. 1

I have been on e-harmony, Just Date, Friends-reunited dating, and Match and none of these have asked me to call them to confirm a deletion of a profile. I think you may have had a phishing email. No accoutn EVER asks you to call to confirm an account has been closed. Someone somewhere has your telephone number

I think you may have had a phishing email. No accoutn EVER asks you to call to confirm an account has been closed. Someone somewhere has your telephone number And I have been on 10 other different sites too and none asked to confirmed by phone. My neighbor had used zoosk before me. She warned me when I delete my profile to call them because even though my profile is deleted they will keep on charging my credit card. That's why they did to her.
