I'm at a point in my life where dating really isn't a feasible option for me even though I would like to. Basically, I'm getting my master's an hour and a half away from where I live. I don't want to start anything here (there isn't anything) because I plan on leaving and never returning after I graduate in May 2017. I don't want to start anything near home because obviously I'm not there enough to date someone on a consistent basis. and it's hard to find people willing to make that commute.

Now I find myself so phenomenally bored that I'm considering talking to people I know I would/should never date from my past. Like just for entertainment purposes. I know it's not worth it, but this town gets so boring.

Anyone else ever found themselves backtracking?

Yes. Most people I ever messed with I left on good terms. Or tried to. So there have been plenty of times where I would open that line of contact again. Some of them have more history than others, so it's nice to check in from time to time. I guess in a stupid way it's just to stay somewhere in relevance.
