A second chance? What did your ex(dumper) do to let you know they wanted you?

Sorry I keep posting, guys! I just kept having questions that pop into my mind and won't leave me alone...I don't really have any friends I can talk about this with either, and this site has some great people with good heads on their shoulders...so...kinda have to take advantage of that.

 

Just a quick question. Me and my ex bf of three years (were very serious about eachother!) have been apart for about a month now, he is trying to recover from me cheating on him. Overall I think he has forgiven me about it, understands why it happened and knows how TERRIBLE and disgusted I feel and he should know how committed I am to him and our potential future together.

 

How he feels about us? He doesn't know himself. He doesn't want to date me right now...but can't speak for the future. I have done my fair share of begging 'n pleading but from reading around on this site it seems like that is a big no no. So, as much as its killing me, I've been letting him initiate the contact. (I guess we are on a what you would call LC situation??)

 

A few weeks ago I gave him a little journal I had been writing in ever since it all happened. I think I wrote more than 20 pages. It consisted of me trying to explain why the situation happened, how I feel about him, and what I am going to do for him to show him how much I care. I specifically wrote "the reason why I REFUSE to give up hope on us is because you haven't rejected me completely. I want you to understand, until that day comes where you look me in the eye and say 'I don't EVER want to be with you again' I will never EVER give up on us." I went to his house a week after giving it to him and took the journal back, explaining that I felt I was pressuring him with it but I still wanted him to know I meant everything I said.

 

He has made no indication that he wants to end it with me permanently. He says he still doesn't know what he is going to do, but I can't help but take his inability to tell me anything concrete as a good thing. But, who knows. He told me once he knows what he wants, he will tell me, good or bad. He seemed to preach that it would be too cruel to lead someone on like that, so again, another good sign?

I dunno...of course after being cheated on a person can change ALOT, so I worry that he may know but just doesn't want to tell me.

 

Just wondering....has anyone been in a situation like this? Were you on a break/breakup/NC/LC with someone but expressed how you felt? Did they reciprocate because they felt the same way, did they not respond but still felt the same way and it came out later, did they not feel the same way and was just trying to avoid conflict, etc...

 

I'm just going crazy wondering that the fact my exBF knows that I won't give up on us til he tells me there is no chance and is not saying anything, good or bad, but still maintains some sort of contact w/ me.

 

Wow...the amount I would pay to get inside his mind!

dont waste your time. move on. they left you for a reason, and unless they ran out of women/men then dont hope for it. its a waste of time. unless your a hopeless romantic and have had only 2 or less significant others. theres too many people out there for you to worry about this one. soul mate? obviously, not! and if so, your gonna have to wait a long time... so have fun in the mean time yea!?
