Xttnx Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Ok so I'm a senior in high school and I was bored one day on Instagram so I browsed a couple of profiles and I came across this cute Guy's profile and requested to follow him and he followed me back. We don't know each other and he lives in the state next to mines. He is friends with college kids who attend my church, and he's very intertwined in the Vietnamese church system (and so am I). The thing is, I think he's in his early 20s but honestly age doesn't matter to me that much. I'm really mature for my age and I've dated older guys before. I don't know why I feel very inclined to talk to him/get to know him better. I found his Facebook but we only have 1 mutual friend. Should I just risk it and add him then message him? What should I say to him? Would "hey sorry this is super random, but I came across your insta and I don't know why I feel inclined to talk to you" sound creepy? Thanks so much I really want to know him better
Buddhist Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 From my experience guys don't find it too creepy if random women message them, as long as the msg is light, friendly and you don't then followup with a bunch of crazy stuff shortly afterwards. I've msg'd guys I do not know before and always got a friendly reply. This kind of stuff doesn't happen to men that often so they tend to appreciate it when it does. Just do it. I'd say something like. Hey, thanks for following me on instagram. Just thought I'd say Hi. etc. If you don't you'll always wonder what if.

I'm just confused on what I should say to not make it sound creepy haha.. Idk if thanking him for follow me back on insta would be creepy since it's a pretty casual gesture
Buddhist Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Just do your best. Write something short and sweet, a few sentences only. Don't mention he's hot or anything like that. That is creepy. And roll the dice. You're a HS senior so learning to do this now, will stand you in good stead for the rest of your dating life. The women that are always passive miss out on the best ones. If you want to catch a fish got to put out a line.
