I feel like unsuccessful guys are sometimes good at reading people. They learn how to manipulate people so they can be unsuccessful without being desperate. Like they know how to keep getting hired for jobs without ever being dishonest about why they have so many jobs on their resume. That guy was owning it bc he was emotionally independent, if not fiscally. (And he had the wherewithal - and brazenness - to secure a spot on the dole more or less w/out any apron strings attached. That kind of swagger can actually be attractive to some.) The real turnoff of an at-home guy is the presumption of still having a juvenile emotional reliance on his mother (and/or father).

The girl's parents are agreeing to support him just cause he's dating your daughter? It's like some weird four-way where he's living off two people he isn't even dating. And getting to sleep with the third member all the while not working or going to school. Obviously I don't know all the story but from the outside.....

Some girls also like the "control" of dating a guy that is either poor or on drugs.

It's more cost effective, efficient and, most of all, more fun. More variety for less cost. No lists necessary. Just lust.

He was a total womanizer and him and his player buddy would hit the high end pick up bars. They invested in their sex lives. Bought nice clothes, got the cheapest used Porsche and told the girls they were tennis pros on the tour. He absolutely mopped up model hot girls. My best friend talked to his player brother & says he was averaging 2-3 girls a week and probably bedded close to a 1,000 total in his 20s & 30s. He didn't get married until his late 30s. Not bad for a college drop out making min wage.

IMO, it depends upon parameters established by the woman, since the OP was comparing two males of equal attractiveness with the main differentiator being their job and financial status. One, the CEO of a successful tech company is a rare commodity, compared to the far more common everyday man, including the unemployed living in parent's basement everyday man. Hence, for a casual sex partner, she's far more likely to run into volumes of the latter before running into the former. Since there are plenty of attractive, sexy men who aren't CEO's, respecting the reality that attractiveness usually does play a role in high level success, she'll have better fortunes, and more efficient fortunes, saying 'yes' to the latter guys and, concurrently, the latter guys will be far more ready to say yes to her whether they are married or not because, well, their minds are more on sex than the guy pushing out new iPads or whatever whizbang gizmo is the next great thing in our world. Can a CEO have women at his beck and call for casual sex whether he's married or not? Sure! Saw a lot of it in the 80's when I was into that milieu. It was like a revolving door. Still, the door and admittance standards, standards that the unemployed basement dweller wouldn't have, and, mostly due to that milieu being far more efficient and less socially detrimental to the woman because, well, who can prove anyone had sex with anyone save for it being on film or if basement dweller junior shows up and, yup, a woman is in complete and total control of that event. If the CEO knows the woman wants casual sex, he will believe he has the advantage over the college dropout because of status. The college dropout probably will take what he can gets. So whatever parameters he believes the woman wants for casual sex, he is simply guessing at best. It makes it easier to string him along cause he thinks he isn't in competition with the basement dweller and it's doubtful the woman would make him think he's competition cause that would hurt that CEO's ego and thus a chance at sex with him since like you said he's much rarer. No guy with status wants to think he's in competition with every dude.

They tell the woman they are living at home because their mother is very sick and needs the extra care that only a loving son can provide...That, or he decided to live in the parents house while he performs all of the necessary work...completely rewire the house for 220 amp service, build a stone patio with imported blue stone, hand craft a Mahogany Pergola...*puffs out chest*..... she says...."really?....wow...how thoughtful and selfess...and impressive,too".... zzzzzzzzipppp...... It wasn't really a legit company but just a means to meet swim suit models and bed them. He showed me a swim suit calendar and said he bedded like 9 of the 12 girls in the calendar. He's not a braggadocio and would lie and I have seen him hook up with some amazing looking women. He never did get a real job and met some stunning lady moving up the corporate ladder and he's a kept man now. Girls/ladies that dress nice, take care of themselves (hair, nails, etc) is a big plus over a girl, although hot, wears jeans & cheesy t-shirts.
