I appreciate posters in this section (other man/other woman), and wanted to mention that about 5 or 6 months ago I was tempted to cheat to (I guess) distract from stress with my girlfriend. Reading threads here over a couple weeks is part of what helped me commit to resolve the issues in my relationship Before and Instead Of seeking romance with another woman.

 

I ended up breaking off a 4 year relationship (a really fun, bright relationship with a very good partner, the best of my life) due to my lack of a good relationship with one of her sons.

 

I'm still not happy about our split, but I am happy I kept it all above board, about our lives, and did not muddy my decisions with another relationship pulling at me. I'm also glad I did not betray her trust.

Sunlight, sorry to hear about your breakup.

You made the right decision. I don't know why anyone would choose this lifestyle. I'm an OW/MW, my AP/MM is as good to me as he can be and we genuinely care about each other...but it's still a life of "breadcrumbs". It's so all-consuming and I live with guilt and anxiety daily. But we can't seem to let each other go...it's a sad situation...I think in the beginning people just feel the rush of positive emotions and get carried away with the tide...then the reality of living a lie day to day sets in, but by that time you're so emotionally invested in each other...how can you go away...its heart wrenching everyday...

I HOPE YOU CONTINUE ON A HEALTHY PATH AND FIND SOMEONE AVAILABLE AND AMAZING!!!
