Love at first sight?! Well... second sight.

Right before Thanksgiving I (27) started talking to a girl (24) on a dating site. We exchanged numbers and messaged each other all day every day before finally agreeing to meet right before Christmas. Even via text everything clicked and my initial thought, as crazy as it seemed, was that she could be the one.

We met for dinner on our first date and the conversation just rolled continuously, neither one of us missing a beat. Things were a little awkward, as most first dates are, but there was this uncanny familiarity I felt. After dinner I gave her a hug goodbye and we both agreed we had a good time. Before I even got back home she had texted me and we joked, referencing the proverbial book on dating, about whether or not it was too soon to say we wanted to see each other again.

Fast forward through the holidays to our second date on New Year's Day. I brought her down to NYC for dinner and a show. Her smile did not leave her face the entire night, and the girl I had connected so well with via text was now sitting across from me making my heart melt. She was seemingly everything I'd been looking for in a girl and, after numerous failed LTRs, I finally felt as though I could lose myself in another person.

We walk into Grand Central and no one is there, as if they had shut the place down. Stopping in the middle, we both look up at the beautiful ceiling many feet over our heads. We both take our gaze off of what seemed to be the very same spot in the painted constellations above and, as our eyes met, I leaned in and kissed her. It was everything that every romantic movie or novel has ever depicted. Fireworks, butterflies, breathlessness, you name it... it was there. It was by far the most genuinely passionate thing I have ever experienced. I feel as if I felt the exact moment I fell in love.

She came back to my place and one thing led to another. In the days since, we have been absolutely smitten by each other, both agreeing that neither of us have felt this way before.

Is our story one of love at first sight? (or second second sight in this case) I feel as though it is - but am I simply idealizing the entire situation?

It can happen, but date for a whole year - at least - to get through the honeymoon period....

It very well may be "love at first [or second] sight"...time will tell. I believe in love at first sight...

...in retrospect.

As Carrie's indicated, give it time to know for sure...and meanwhile bask in the glow of what being in love feels like. Besides, if it IS "love at first sight" and you two are destined to be together, f-o-r-e-v-e-r...

...then really, there IS no rush...now is there? 'Forever' will get here soon enough and will last for a mighty long time.

Best of luck to you, OP...
