hhj Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 im skinny so if i take BC pills will i gain weight? and where mostly? thanks
Craig Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 It depends on the type of pill your doctor gives you. Some formulations may result in weight gain, including larger breasts. Some other formulations like the so-called mini pill have less of a tendency to result in weight gain. You and your doctor can decide together what would be most suitable for you. Ask your doctor AND talk to a pharmacist. Pharmacists often know more about the side effects of a medication then a doctor.
smile95 Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 I take low dose pills in order NOT to gain weight, so my guess would take a higher dose. Most likely it will not be in the areas that you want. I gained in my stomach and hips, but everyone is diff? Ever just try working out and eating more?More as in healthy things?
sophia34 Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 Before you take the hormones, tell us a bit about how you've tried to gain weight in the past. I know that for truly skinny people with fast metabolisms it can be tough! But before you resort to hormones (especially if you don't need them for any other purpose ), just make sure you've exhausted all other options: Drinking one or two extra fruit smoothies a day, on top of your normal diet, could tip the scale in your favor, so to speak. For example, 1 cup yogurt with milk and fruit blended can add up to 300 calories--an extra 600 calories per day, 7 days a week, should help you put on a pound a week! BUT perhaps you've tried such solutions...let us know!
beesknees Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 i'm really skinny too, and when i was on the pill, it had no effect on my weight, but everyone's body is different and it depends on the type of pill you're taking. best to speak to your doctor about what's right for you.
