brooke32 Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 Need some advice, I was with my ex BF for 7 years known him for 10...We had SOOO many excellent memories, he was my best friend, we did everything together, from hiking, biking, boating, walking, travelling, going to the beach, lake, ect...I could go on and on.... We were best friends, I ended things because I needed to know where our future was going and he does not want to get married or have kids, or maybe not right now........I do want those things, i wanted them with him, but I have been with this man for sooo long, I just couldn't wait more years......I'm 33 years old and not getting younger, he is 36. The problem I have is how do you let go of all those things we used to do together, I miss THEM SO MUCH and he does too, but won't commit to me even though i left...We still talk like old times..But I need to move on... Can anyone else ever compare to him??? I'm so scared of the unknown.. any advice would be greatful!!

You have to accept it's over if you will ever have a chance to find someone else. If he is so great why isn't he with you? Find another "best friend" to do things with and stop putting him on a pedestal!!! Peace...
smile95 Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 I am having the same problem with memories. In my case, our timing is off and he has other issues now. Your problem is he does not want what you want. I am 28 and not getting any younger! You are in your 30's and deserve to find someone who wants the same as you! I fear I will never find anyone I connect with either. We were togehter 3 yrs and I am heartbroken, but i HAVE yo force myself to move on. How will we know if anyone will ever compare if we do not try it out??? Good luck. The memories kill me and I just want to call him and tell him I love him, but then reality hits and I remember why he is not around and I know at this point it is up to him if he wants to come back. If they come back, maybe we will have moved on!
