I recently asked out a girl, that's coming off long relationship a couple months ago.

I've been friends with her for almost two years. She told me she's not doing the whole dating thing right now, and is trying learn to be happy on her own. She said that she's getting there, but needs to do it on her own. I told her that I cared about her, and want her to be happy, and that I still wanted to hangout with her in a couple of weeks. She said of course. I'm giving her some space right now. I'm looking for some advice going forward?

The only advice you can receive in this instance is to give her the space she needs and has asked for. Not only is she level headed about asking this of you, you should be level headed enough to give it to her.

 

There are no timelines as to when a person may truly feel ready to get back out there. Don't pressure, and just keep communication minimal and friendly.
