Hi guys, my girlfriend and I broke up a month ago due to her 'not ready to commit' After going through 3 weeks of NC i saw her a few days ago and explained to her that we can't be friends now or talk due to me not healing yet. She reacted negatively after rejecting her bid of being 'friends'. I saw her yesterday at a friend's house and she was trying to make me jealous by showing my friends these snapchats of guys she claims 'have been asking her how she's been' right in front of me! She wanted the break-up, I can't understand why she's playing these dirty games.

Firstly, you was honest with yourself, congratulations on that, it's not easy being friends with an ex, especially as the dumpee, it takes a brick wall kind of feller to be able to hack that scenario, I don't know why your ex decided to act out in this insensitive way, in your shoes, my heart would be in the floor right now, I am so sorry she had to treat you in this cruel way, she ended it so I think in your case, it's time to turn your back on her and walk away.

I'm new here but here is my opinion from experiece. she is doing it to make you jealous, just dont react to it. My ex was doing similar stuff, She changed her approach when she saw me not have a reaction.

The only reason she was showing other friends was because you were there.

She dumped you = she was in control. She agreed to be your friend = she was in control. You said you couldn't do that and walked away = you were in control. Now she's acting out because you've done the right thing and taken back that power she had over you (yeah I know it may not feel like it now, but you're heading in the right direction). She'll do stuff like this until you either go running back chasing her and feeding her ego, or until she realises you've moved on. Basically, she made the call and ended it. Her loss. It's funny but when dumpers start acting like this it never makes the dumpee see them in a good light; we start to see all the negatives and it just pushes us further away and helps us move on. Try not to overthink as to the why she's doing these things, just carry on doing whatever is best for you.

Good advise.. very true..

Its funny how dumpees gravitate towards taking the high road and dumpers just continue acting more selfish and nasty.

I think this is why at some point it levels out to where both become equal again.

The dumper may still be loved or liked by the dumpee. The dumpee becomes respected by the dumper for being a good person with integrity who was able to defeat their broken heart.

And when you think about it 5 years down the line...... neither is gonna be thinking "oh i loved them" or " i dint love them". But.... if someone was mistreated or dumped very badly or the dumper was extra-cruel.... that behaviour is never forgotten.

The dumpee may have showed their bad side leading to a breakup. The dumper then shows their bad side post BU.

She's doing it because she's an immature idiot. You're well rid of a manipulator.

Smudge's post is right on target. Great advice.
