thecrucible Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I will admit that as a guy, I can tell whether a woman is girlfriend material after the first date. However, if they're not girlfriend material and I find them attractive enough to want to hook up, then I'll proceed to ask them for a second date. Purely out of curiosity, what do you define as girlfriend material? What do you base your decision on? Do you do a lot of talking before the date and get a sense of her personality or is purely on the basis of the date itself?

I never do a lot of talking before the date so I base it almost purely on the date itself. Sometimes I find the woman physically attractive but will also uncover some other dealbreakers.

Sometimes I find the woman physically attractive but will also uncover some other dealbreakers. I still think it's tricky to judge actual compatibility with someone after having only met once or twice- if you're looking for a serious relationship I mean. The guy I recently saw actually told me on the first date that so many women come across as sexmad and ready to hop into bed. I mistakenly read this as him wanting to be a bit more chaste whilst getting to know a woman so in turn, I completely held back from flirting with him on the second date.
