I put a fake profile up to test the waters. A quick paragraph about me, another about who I'm looking for. All pretty standard stuff. I added a bold warning statement that although I don't practice archaic sanitary rituals, they could rest assured that I didn't have any STD's that they didn't have already.

I'm getting more responses than my real profile. I don't get it

Two things.

1. That is actually quite funny

2. I am sure there are a few you haven't had yet

Just saying!

It's the bottle-necked at the door theory.

All those STD's are jammed up in his central nervous system not able to go anywhere.

One shot of penicillin and he's a goner.

Simple.

So simple.

Clear as the sky in a desert.

Easy as to figure the number that comes after 1.

Even easier then adding 2 + 2 = 4.

They all have STD's and desperate for someone to date them.

All new profiles generate a certain amount of activity.

Give it a few weeks. It will die down.

There's actually dating sites created just for people with STD's.

Well we all wish that we had never had one or hope that we never get one...

The little critters have the habit of popping up where you least expect them... back of the sofa along with those rouge 50p's, in the fridge with the pair of glasses that you lost in the 70's, attached to some partner who has barely slept around but who has been a bit stupid just once or foolishly thought that their husband/ wife was faithful...

It's good to see something funny as so many profiles are really bland and all the men say the same thing like "I like to play hard and I like work hard", "...looking for my partner in crime" etc.

I hope they responded in appreciation of the humor, and not for being attracted to a diseased warrior of love.

It's commendable but it turns my stomach  I might want to abstain rather than wallow in that dating pool.

Then you're not really a warrior of love.

Could you provide an insight to the more...entertaining responses?

Could you provide an insight to the more...entertaining responses?

Some were angry, They'd say something like it was arrogant of me to assume they had STDs just because I was reckless.

Some were confused and asked me to be clearer.

Several gave very impersonal cut-n-paste responses that made no mention of the particulars in my post.

2 suggested I confine my search to women with STDs

My 3 favorites played along with joke and ran with the theme. One lady listed a bunch of STD's and was hopeful that I had at least several of them, so that we might have many things in common.

My least favorite said I sounded like a cool guy and offered to send me a check as payment for my motorcycle (as soon I provided my account number). I don't even have a motorcycle :(
