I am wondering if anyone has some stories of their most recent dating screw ups or disapointment? We all mess up, I think it would be fun to hear others stories.

My recent one: I had matched with some one on tinder and was way too excited by the prospect of our future date. She had to reschedule, and then again, and then finally just said she could not make it at all. This was during the holidays and she was only visiting family here.

For some reason I was super bummed about not getting to meet this women. She seemed absolutely perfect for me in every way. So in my pissy mood I start swiping on tinder once again. I match with another woman who is a rare find, and who would obviously make a great date. It was a good match, one not to be wasted.

I was so pissed that it didn't work out with the other one that I unmatched myself from the new prospect for no reason instantly! Now here I am a couple days later and feeling like it would be nice to date the woman I unmatched myself from

I started an OLD account even though I despise dating. I figured I can't pull all my eggs in one basket. I saw this guy I was seeing on the site. I would not say it was dumb but I got a kick out of it.

Actually believing a woman would actually be interested in me beyond a stupid and pointless friendship.

I have hooked up with my 10 years younger housemate, multiple times. It was pretty hot :o

That is funny. I knew a woman who was doing the same with a younger stud in her household. Your not alone apparently:laugh:

Wasted 2 hours on a date with a guy who was a total idiot.

What went wrong?

On paper a good match, great in fact...

He turned up, he sucked his teeth. He spoke over me and my answers to his questions. About 10 minutes in he asked if I had noticed he was "testing me". I replied that I had and had he noticed it wasn't working? He went on and on about horoscopes and how he had researched me to find out what I was like. I asked him if he ever tried talking to people to get to know them. He made drama out of nothing. He was insulting to everyone and everything, from the poor sod that made his tea to other drivers on the roads, to doctors, engineers etc. He slagged off my bosses (always a big mistake) for no reason. Then he randomly changed subjects (we had been talking about whiplash and he changed to music poof just like that). When he asked what sort of music I liked I said I have varied tastes and loved the new Coldplay riff and had also put Beethovens 5th Piano concerto on my wish list on Amazon and just as I took a breath he started slagging both off... Apparently the rock Gods such as Queen, Elvis etc all know nothing about music... Vivaldi is stupid and Abba were just cash mongers. So what do I like to do for fun? Oh well I like to go and book random experiences and tickets to various concerts and festivals and I like to read a lot and I would like to travel more and try more things. Oh well not everyone has the money to do that... so you can't save up £20 to go out every now and then?

It was so bad, the conversation so contrived by him that the old couple sat next to me started talking to me to try and get me away from him.

He would ask a random question then disagree with me, cut over what I was saying and be insulting.

I could go on and on about how awful this guy was.

Yeah he described himself as a "nice" guy. He is tall dark and handsome just a total and utter prat... Urgh. If I never see him again it will be too soon!

This is why I don't date "nice" guys... They turn out to be egotistical, self absorbed, anti social, rude...

Agh 2 hours wasted... I would rather have been cleaning toilets.

Another mistake. I have just wasted another 5 minutes bothering to talk about it...

On to the better guys.

Noooo! I sometimes describe myself as a nice guy! I wouldn't slag off your tastes though. I've been told I'm nice by others, surely that's better than putting it on my business cards myself? No?

My dating horror isn't the most recent, in fact it goes back to when I was about 14.

My best friend was trying to set me up with a girl who had just moved into the area, along with trying to get a date with her friend for himself.

We gathered in her parent's lounge for a friendly chat to get to know each other and pretty soon after us guys had used up all our fart joke and hilarious body noises material the conversation started getting pretty sparse. My friend, in exasperation, said, 'Gah, someone say something! Come on!'

In panic I replied, 'So, does anyone actually like Pop-Tarts?' Silence.

For quite a while.

Then my friend, knowing that I was quite athletic, said I should show my love interest my biceps. She said they looked gross.

Didn't see her again after that.

Agh I hate and loathe the word "nice". Its a none word that you use when its just not up to the mark.

No one ever says "Nice try" to the people who get the contracts or win the race etc. When you meet someone that you are fascinated by you describe them as fascinating, interesting, lovely, kind... you don't describe them as "nice"!

Nice is a word that is used when its not overtly offensive but its not going to make any difference.

I actually take it as an insult when people say I am nice. But then that very rarely happens... I really would rather be called a b**** or anything other than nice. At least then I am something. I am somebody. Nice is nothing its just there...

Love the Pop tarts comment! And no I don't think anyone does they just ate them because the adverts made you think your were cool if you did!!! :lmao: Its hard to be 14... being cool is just such hard work!

Did you have the teenage years of Lynx and Impulse sprayed on in stupid amounts over sweaty bodies?

Even now I think the "Lynx effect" is actually parents lining up their children to stand in front of hose pipes and a skip for sweaty socks in an attempt to try and get their sons and daughters to smell less "ripe" in general! :D

In that case I would like to change my current status from 'nice' to, 'adorable husband material'.

Pop-Tarts were so popular back in the mid 90s but seemed to have the opposite effect on social interactions. I panicked.

And for your information I never smelled 'ripe', I was quite fragrant thanks to Lynx Africa. The ladies almost commented on it too, but they never seemed to get close enough to get a good whiff.

Forgetting to tap the girl friend on the head letting her know what was "coming " ;)

Really?

She makes you do that?

Guess I'm evil. I never do that. I figure they can find out real time and decide how they want to handle it.:lmao:

Agh ha so it was Lynx Africa and not soap and water that made you smell good!!!

I did love that story!

Adorable husband material is to smushy. Trust me after a woman has seen you throwing up or passed you extra loo roll when you have a dodgey stomach she may still love you but "adorable" is pushing it was to far... Where did you put the lynx?

It was Impulse Goddess for me until I just decided that stinking of horses was far superior and saved my pennies for their feed and shoeing bills rather than my armpits. Imperial Leather became my choice after that!

How about Pop Tart Fashionista!

It's pretty good I suppose. I do think I'll have to keep clarifying that I'm into women though...

Lynx goes one spray on the left, one on the right and a generous dousing front centre. The side effects were that you had to stay away from naked flames and unfortunately naked women.

Horses don't smell terribly, but maybe some Lynx Apollo would calm that down a little. Not the roll on though, you'd have to apply it with a mop.
