Meeting her parents.

It just happened over these holidays. She warned me they were nudists so I was somewhat prepared but there is no way you can truly prepare for it.

In my freshman year of college I accidentally walked into my roommate and her boyfriend having sex. He turned around and looked at me, whitest butt I've ever seen. Not what I wanted to see!

In church, during small group there have been two instances where I've accidentally held hands with a guy (pretty sure he's interested in my friend).

Having sex with my HS girlfriend and my dad walked in. He just laughed and shut the door. Never talked to him about it, but my girlfriend was pretty embarrassed and could never really look him in the eye again.

I'm extremely ginger and in middle school I was asked if the carpet matched the drapes. I just remember not being sure what to say or if they really wanted to know or if they were just making fun of me. I got soooooooo red in front of the girl who I liked and I will never forget that day.

I was on a first date with a guy at a restaurant. I had to sneeze and tried to hold it in. Ended up farting instead. Loudly (damn you vinyl booth seats). We kind've just looked at each other for a very long, uncomfortable moment until I burst out laughing hysterically because that's totally normal when you're super embarrassed, right? I cracked a joke and he laughed all awkwardly. The date never really quite recovered after that.

Yep- a fart for me too! lol Lovely dinner date, dressed up, romantic, and as we strolled afterwards I farted. I looked at him and starting laughing so hard and he did too. We ended up getting married. So maybe the fart test is a valid test. Eh, probably not.

there's been lots. but maybe just asking out someone who had less than zero interest in me? i've done it a few times, and that's always awkward. the embarrassment lasts for quite a while, especially if i have to see them again.

i think a lot of the time i feel awkward i am actually feeling what the guy or other person is feeling, so instead of feeling awkward myself and adding to vibes i am getting, i try to make them feel more comfortable......first dates have a habit of being a little awkward....i never judge a guy by a first date.....unless he gropes.....

the most most awkward thing i have ever said to anyone on this planet is...i know how to hypnotise chickens like out of the blue for no other reason than to engage conversation randomly...and yes it is a guy i did have fondness for....lol..totally lost my chain of thought and that is what i came out with...hypnotising chickens...pfft

i normally can cover awkwardness if i feel it...smiling widely helps break ice also relaxes tension in my shoulders for some reason........as does controlling shyness by asking more questions...these are tried and true for me....if i am shy ...or feeling awkward ill push myself to interact more....ill try and crack jokes...ill say hi first........or make the other person feel at ease and then more than likely, i naturally feel more at ease myself.....deb

Had been eyeing my dream girl all year at the college bar.

This girl made me swoon, just looking at her.

One night, got up enough liquid courage to approach.

Introduced myself, had a few moments of an ok conversation (she didn't run) then introduced myself a second time. :D:laugh::o

Too much liquid courage and nervous as hell. Blew that one.

********

My friend has a great one I watched him do. Pretty similar situation. He'd been eyeing the girl a while, finally got up the courage...

Walked up to her with all the charm and bravado in the world. Big smile, looking pretty damn suave. 6'3", in good shape...

Raised a hand to gesture.. Opened his mouth to talk ... and froze completely.. with his mouth wide open.... for a painfully long time and just said, " I got nothing." to her and walked back over to me. :D:laugh:

One of the funniest things I've EVER seen in my life.

You know what? I think you might be onto something there, BlueIris. Some of my closest friends to this day were made due to a sneaky sqeaker. Not all, but a great enough percentage to take note of. I should mention that I also found out later that the guy I went on that date with had a girlfriend at the time. Total jerk, right? So I'm thinking there's something to this fart test of yours...
