It's been 12 days of NC. In that time I have met someone new, but am planning on taking things REALLY slowly.

Anyway, my ex has my Bat Mitzva tape and my tool set (it's all cute and pink).

I want the crap back!

I refuse to drive to his house (an hour away).

I can't have an mutual friends meet him (he does not know I am doing NC).

What do I do?

I don't want to fall back in that pattern again, but if he lost my Bat Mitzva tape I'll be crushed.

Thanks!

Email him and ask him to mail it to you... This way he cant read your emotions (by email), and you get it returned to you with no hassles.

Email him and ask him to mail them to you.

Don't make any small talk.

Yes, this is Merin's advice, but she's right :)

Yes. Merin pointed out that if you use text (email, IM or txtmsg) your tone of voice can not be detected.

Send him a letter if you have to.

Say My name!

Honestly Angel IMO it is just less painful for you IF you must contact him regarding an item you'd like returned to do so in the most NON personal way.. which is a text, or an email.. then you're not feeling freaked out about hearing his voice, there is nothing to discuss and you don't loose it (so to speak) you get your item back, handled it with class and saved your dignity.

So my advice.. text him or email him. state exactly what it is you'd like returned, give him your exact mailing address to send it to, say you'll expect that item by next week say Thank you and NOTHING more.

damn that's pretty harsh - no small talk, no chit-chat...I like it! :)

If I was the guy on the other end and a girl did that...didn't even make any attempt to be chatty when asking for something to be returned, I'd prolly think "hey wait a minute you don't have feelings for me anymore?!" and I'd prolly be really curious/jealous on the inside. Plus it saves you the trouble of seeing/hearing him. Do it Angeleyez!

PS - Good Advice MERIN (yes I said your name) :)
