I disagree.

If you have to ask then ask.

Assuming is your worst enemy.

Better to know than to be surprised or hurt from assuming. How's assuming working for you?

I did not interpret OP's post that way.

I interpreted it like if your gut is telling you something is wrong or off ....enough so that you have to start a thread on an anonymous message board asking strangers what's going on in your relationship.....then something in your relationship probably IS wrong and off.

And instead of asking strangers, why not ask the person you are actually in the relationship with?

I admit I could be wrong about this interpretation.......it's how I read it though.

I disagree completely. Good communication is absolutely necessary in ANY kind of relationship. However, it's important to note that the only people who truly have the answers are the people involved in the relationship. Outsiders can only speculate, which can still be helpful, as it allows one to consider all of the possibilities.

I think you have a point if you mean "if you have to ask to smell his junk, move on" and that sort of thing.

Sometimes we ask people questions like that because we're insecure or because we want them to tell us what we want to hear. But for the most part, with serious relationships, I was right about every gut instinct I had. Asking really will not help if you're asking a dishonest person.

and if you're so insecure that you have to ask certain questions, that person is not doing their job in their relationship. Or you just need to be single and get urself together first.

But if its casual dating and you don't know the person all that well, may as well ask.
